The motor doesn't come out of the black casing, the field is part of it. As per the other post a few gentle taps should see the aluminium plate separate from the black motor housing.

From memory you just need to tap on the drive pulley with a dead blow hammer, or a normal hammer to free it and it should then come out. It's a while since i did mine. Make sure you have both brushes removed too. I can see one but not the other. They look fairly worn so you may just get away...

Thanks all :) Pretty much what I thought. My planer is now working with the new armature and brushes. I bought it faulty so have fully stripped it, cleaned, lubricated as part of the repair. A Triton TPT 125 almost like new, including the purchase of the planer and all part for £156 :)

Probably not grouped. I change the colour of one of the parts to yellow or a different colour. The contrast makes it much easier to see the gap or lack of it. I also turn the grid spacing off or right down to 0.1mm.
