    Power tools spoil the fun?

I have to agree to some extent. I'm not a woodworker like the majority of the members of this board. I'm a joiner and most of the work I do requires it to be done as fast as possible (but to the best of my ability) so as to earn a decent wage. So, to this extent, I have the usual range of...

    Chainsaws

I'd agree with that. I've got a 24" Stihl and used to use it with no protective clothing. Now, I'm older and wiser (or maybe more of a wuss) I think I'll be getting some trousers and boots the next time I use it. Definately tools that require total respect.

    Push pin hammer

Yeah, it is a bit expensive (especially as it doesn't have a super duper button  :D ) I'll just stick with old antique one which does its job well.

    Scribing Tools & Marking Gauges

Thanks everyone. Brad: yeah, £14 isn't too much and the amount of architrave/skirting I need to scribe I'm pretty sure I'll use it a lot and quickly find out if its any good or not. Alf: Thanks, the gauge you linked to looks good and isn't too expensive. Think I'll go for one of those. cheers

    Push pin hammer

I wondered if someone could give me any information on this http://www.rutlands.co.uk/cgi-bin/psProdDet.cgi/DKW15 I have a very old 'rampin' tool (wooden handle and brass tube) which does the same thing. I was just curious, does this work in the same way (manually pushing the pin in) or does the...

    Scribing Tools & Marking Gauges

I'm quite interested in buying this http://www.rutlands.co.uk/cgi-bin/psProdDet.cgi/ACCUSCRIBE In my line of joinery work the only main things I need to scribe are architraves and worktops (on the rare occasion that I fit a kitchen). during my apprenticeship I was just taught to use a block of...

For Sale: Hitachi C7U2 Circular Saw

I'd nip down to the Trafford Centre as late as possible and try and catch HMV or Virgin Megastore just before they close. Least that way there may be a chance of parking. I went last Friday evening and it was horrendous. Or just pop down to your local tesco at about 3am, probably still be busy...

Are orders sent between christmas and new year?

I made an order yesterday by phone. I mused the phone instead of online to ask if next day delivery was still available due it being so close to Christmas. I was told it was :D great. Got a phone call this morning to say the couriers had finshed for christmas  I wasn't here to get the...

    Best cordless drill for £150?

This was the drill I had 13 years ago and still rate it as one of the best I've owned. T handles weren't that common then, I think Makita had just released their first one. At the time, I disliked the T shape but now I think they're great. A total necessity for the heavier drills.
