    Small Bandsaw

Not to steal the thunder of the author, but what bandsaw would you guys recomend for resawing boards? It's pretty much the only (or at least the main) reason I'd want one. I might sometimes do some rough shaping on it (hate my jig saw). As cheap as possible. Thanks

Thanks for the info. That woodrat looks hella lot interesting. I'll be looking into that! Same for the Leigh. Cheers

    UJK Universal Dovetail Jig

Freshly landed in Axminster. and some article about it. I'd like to know what people think. It's a lot of money, but I've had a dovetail jig in my mind for quite some time. "machine acuracy" is atractive to me, but the gaps in the joints on video looked a tad too big for my taste, and for this...

air system to lightly blow away dust

I have a big makita router with hoover hooked up, and when milling on flat surface, all of the dust goes in the hoover.

    Table saw blade (DeWalt DWE7485)

Good day to you all. Did anyone buy a saw blade for above dewalt table saw? I'm still using my factory one (general purpose), looking to buy a nice blade for ripping, and a second one for crosscut. The options seem limited due to the blade size (210mm dia, 30mm bore, 1.8mm width) I've come...

For Sale Digital Height Gauge for Axminster Craft AC250PT Planer Thicknesser (returned to Axminster)

Thanks Popey, I too struggle for space in my single garage. Too small for woodworking, but I ain't gonna give up! I was going to sell my motorcycle to create more space, and hang my pushbikes verically on a wall. Every bit counts! Now I'm trying to get my motorbike in a yard, and have it living...

For Sale Digital Height Gauge for Axminster Craft AC250PT Planer Thicknesser (returned to Axminster)

This is what I need to find out I guess. I didn't realise they updated the spec of the machine, saying it comes with it already. I had it on back order for quite a while!

    Random- how many sockets?

An electrician just left my garage, 5 new double sockets are in, a total of 11 usable on a mains ring.

For Sale Digital Height Gauge for Axminster Craft AC250PT Planer Thicknesser (returned to Axminster)

Good day to you all. Got this beauty this week, can't wait to have a play with it, calibrate, and mill some lumber! I have ordered the optional "digital" read for the thicknessing mode. It's analog, really, but it shows numbers down to a 0.1mm. To my surprise, it came fitted on the machine...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Good day I'm sharing with you my little project - a silencer box for an air compressor. Design premise - cheap and functional, relatively small. Will only run for a minute max (don't worry about overheating), to fill a pressure pot. It will live in the house tucked under a work desk. If not...

    Dust extraction

Thanks for the comments, appreciate the help. I have time to think about this, as both the jointer, and extractor are still out of stock. I was in the store recently, they reckon it might be in stock for January. It's true it's one time cost, and it would probably hold good value if I was to...

    Dust extraction

Just spent quite a bit of time on ebay. Majority of the blowers are 1HP which I get the feeling is not enough. 2HP usually still coming with 100mm port, still. 3HP seems rare, and often 3 phase, which I don't have. I'm getting lost in it all, might just bite the bullet and go with this puppy...

    Dust extraction

Thanks for the responses! I was working with the assumption that the jointer has 100mm dust outlet, so keeping things 100mm seemed like a good idea. I wonder if I go with the suggested 150mm piping, then there is going to be the choke at the machine down to 100mm, if it still going to be...

Thanks for the tip. Price to value is now MUCH BETTER for the hose!!!

    Dust extraction

Thanks for the note. I was a bit sceptical about the flow rate on 1HP motor, where others were having lower flowrate with 1HP motor... Good suggestion to look for 2nd hand. don't know why I haven't checked it already.

    Dust extraction

Not to steal the thunder, but... I already have a shop vac with cyclone, it's great for table saw, and other small stuff. I'm gonna buy the axminster jointer/thicknesser they have for a grand. Now I want to get chip extractor and hook up a bigger cyclone to it. Axminster has everything I need...

White Dye / stain - how to?

Wow, lots of sugestions, many of which I didn't know about! Thanks for all of those. My missus was worried about the looks of it in the end, and changed her mind about it, so it made my job much easier finishing with bees wax disolved in mineral oil. Buffed it in and called it done. This is...

White Dye / stain - how to?

Greetings, I'm new to woodworking, new to the forum, but I've been visiting for a while. Anyway... I'm finishing my project, glue is drying. Time for a finish is approaching. I've built a pine rack/shelfing unit for glasses for my Mrs. for her kitchen kingdom. I'd like to ask you for help...
