Anyone pleased or advice with a cheap planer thicknesser.

Most of cheap thicknessers with have HSS blades. Have a look around how much for a set of replacement blades, and how difficult to get them. You can sharpen them, of course, but you might do that often, so it's not bad idea to have two sets of knifes to rotate them. I didn't want any of that...

    Woodworking Youtubers

Not many here mentioned Stumpy Nubs, who is in my book one of the best for education. He started as somewhat joker who also did wood related things, and over the years transformed to educator. And he's spot on. Highly recomend to those wanting to learn.

    Golden wedding anniversary gift ideas

I appreciate this new view for me. You are not wrong. They might not put jewellery in, but small trinkets, and as long as something is in, it would serve the purpose. Thanks for sharing.

    Golden wedding anniversary gift ideas

That's pretty neat idea! They are not living in UK, so the old penny would not have much to do with them, however the coin idea is brilliant. They are even selling gold plated ones just for the occasion. I'll see if it passes wife test :D

    Golden wedding anniversary gift ideas

Yeah, I thought about it. It would seem more worthy present. They are not about jewlery (which I associate with these boxes), but they like food a lot. My uncle is a passionate meat eater. Aunt a bit less, which is putting me off for the cutting board. I wonder if a combo would be best. Matching...

    Golden wedding anniversary gift ideas

That wire inlay is pretty neat, I like everything about it. However seems like a lot of time and money investment to get the tools and skills required. And II'm not sure I would do that often. My wife is making DND resin dices, so she could fill the inlay with epoxy instead. Might not look as...

Folks, very dear family members will celebrate this great anniversary towards the end of the year, and I'm scrumbling for ideas, or if those of mine are any good. I thought of making high-end cutting board, end grain, thick and large in footprint, maple walnut combo. Just doesn't seem to be...

Do you need help / chat / access to machinery you don't have? Local network database

I'm trying to put together a database of people, who are open to meet new people, have a chat with them, show & explain some machinery, or maybe even do a little work for someone who does not have the gear needed to do the work him/herself. For example, I have at home a jointer/thicknesser...

Thanks for the link. Yeah looks nice this map. But I found it difficult to find a way to contact said person, and or what gear they have. Amazing how many people got in touch there.

    Tool offers / rent

Thanks mate. I'll need to set up a new thread here, with better name and better description of what the idea is. I'd still welcome more suggestions on that, please. I'll then carry over the info gathered here, and link the new thread.

    Tool offers / rent

Looks like I ran into some technical issue / limitation in here. I'm no longer able to edit the header of the thread, hence I can't continue to add people in there... What a shame. Not sure about getting some google doc together, and have a link to it? How would people feel about that? Or other...
