AC400 Record Power air filter - not working

Sure, I don't mind sharing it. Though, I would go with version 1.2 instead, as in 1.0 version that I installed in my unit I have Arduino placed too close to the screw that holds the cover (that's why there is a gap of light in the middle of the case on the second photo). And the buzz as a bit...

AC400 Record Power air filter - not working

Mine stopped switching to speed 2 and 3 after one or two years of mostly sitting plugged in, used it rarely... I looked at the internet, disassembled the thing, looked at the control board and decided to make my own instead of going the warranty road. It has cheaply engineered board that...

    Best Dust Extraction System

My requirements were similar and I also needed quiet machines. Found one dust extractor with maximum 69-70 dB - AL-KO Power Unit 120. It has also fine filter in it. There are similar ones made by other brands, like Metabo. Felder had RL series dust extractor of similar nature. I bought that...

    Battery compatibility

I never trust non-OEM batteries and their prices are always too good to be true. I did build some batteries myself though. There are empty cases for Makita batteries that can be found on far east sites (even with BMS inside). As an example, real Sony VTC6 batteries that are high capacity and...

MFT-style vs. Trad-style workbench design (is there a middle ground??)

Yes, Jacob, you right. I've heard of course about winding sticks and I do check by eye (and by hand) too. If only it were from wood I would make it flat after gluing it together. But since it is plywood with plastic layer on top it requires different approach, unfortunately. Actually, I like my...

MFT-style vs. Trad-style workbench design (is there a middle ground??)

Sure, my workbench is my reference surface. That's why I also use it for glue ups. Flattened it with #7 hand plane, slightly concave in the middle, like a shaving deep. But I saw a video where just cutting straight ribs with a rail guide for torsion box was not enough - it was noticeably...

MFT-style vs. Trad-style workbench design (is there a middle ground??)

Thanks for this information, didn't think of that... So maybe that is only good for router table side and then MDF or wood on the other side? Or even incorporate that MFT table top only, like drop in replaceable part... Still not sure how to drill the holes though. I was hoping to use Peter...

MFT-style vs. Trad-style workbench design (is there a middle ground??)

I want to print more, maybe two dozens. The ones I modelled are for 19 mm holes. They are 8 mm tall and take M5x8 bolt in the middle. It is indeed easier to take them out with a magnet. Have to chamfer some of the holes more so that they sit below the surface though. I do also repairs on...

MFT-style vs. Trad-style workbench design (is there a middle ground??)

Actually, I'm about to build something MFT like myself this year - for power tools and also as router table where I can finally make use of Incra LS Positioner. Router plate has a magnetic cover for the hole when not in use and holes grid can be used to place that Incra contraption in desired...

MFT-style vs. Trad-style workbench design (is there a middle ground??)

Apparently, there are plugs for those holes too: MFT Plugs - Magnetic Stainless Steel. I experimented with 3d printing a similar plug. Added flat headed M5 screw in the middle to make it magnetic too. Works quite well.

    Air purifier in apartment workshop

I did have AC400 in apartment some time ago... before I got extra room in the basement. So I kind of did that step of moving to a shed. But it is huge for the room full of hand tools now. Also there is still "smell of dust" even if it runs for several hours. Maybe also use blower before starting...

    Air purifier in apartment workshop

I do most of dust related things in the basement room where I have Record Power AC400, a dust collector with fine filter and a vacuum cleaner. However I also have a small crafts room in my apartment where I mostly use hand tools but also occasionally some electric tools a few times in a year...

    Hand Tool Wall Cabinet

Here is what I mean when beech does bleach: This is after first layer where it absorbs a lot of oil. There was a knot or some other defect not very far from there. Or something like this: But even when there's no defects it might look uneven: With more layers it becomes a bit less...

    Hand Tool Wall Cabinet

I did experiment with that and it does look nice stained indeed. I tried water based pigment stain. Dark walnut and mahogany from CLOU do look nice on beech. The beech does bleach sometimes (uneven staining that looks ugly), depending on wood and how surface was finished (hand plane or sand...

    Trimble, and Sketchup...

This is caused by adblocker, I suspect. Had the same in Chrome with AdBlock extension, but worked alright in FireFox without adblockers.

    Sketchup help please

When you create a component, there is a checkbox - replace selection with newly create component. If you don't check this checkbox then it would behave like you described. Also, check the Window menu, one of those side panels (Outliner?) shows tree of components and subcomponents. You should...

    What machine to buy next

I would second that. I also started with hand planes only and a workbench in my apartment. Track saw is all I need instead of table saw. The rest I do with hand saws (and a miter saw) and a shooting plane. Works much better for me than noisy dusty circular saws (table, miter) and also more...

    Hand Tool Wall Cabinet

I used factory made beech panels as I didn't know or could do better at that time. Beach panel 18 mm thick makes it pretty strong to hold what will be like 100 kg of tools. Also I have had some idea that is actually also used in kitchen cabinets sometimes - a shelve that slides out and down of...

    wood thicknessing question

And when you leave it for a few hours or days then leave it on it's edge, so that both surfaces have more or less equal exposure to the air. At least I do that, otherwise they move and bend a lot. Especially thin ones, like 20 mm or less. Maybe even elevate it a bit with some sticks, like you...

A decent Bench drill in 2023?

I would also go with one of Nova DVR drill press if I knew about it back then. Instead I got OPTI B 26 PRO... It is "professional" Chinese, I guess. The motor rotor was not straight and it produced such high vibration that everything I put on its table would eventually jump away. Only chuck was...
