Thanks @mikej460 and @MiTown
I was in the middle of responding (before your response) when my PC conked out on me and wouldn't reboot. Arrrrggghhhhh!!
Anyhow, all I was saying is that I'm definitely interested so yes please, do let me know how you get on with finding a courier. If you...
Thanks @Droogs
That got me thinking... I guess there are three options actually. A lot of direct air stoves / kits only allow for partial external air and are not room sealed. As such, the options are:
- Room vent (or no room vent if 5kW or below) - but either way, air pulled from the house...
Hi all
A bit of background: I live in the Brecon Beacons surrounded by a lot of trees and a stream, all of which I presume lends to the high relative humidity (RH) in my house. It often sits in the 70% region and sometimes even creeps above 80%. In times of high RH, opening the window is...
Just so I can understand you correctly... They were plastic pipes and the mice got to them/chewed them, and caused the leak? Or they were copped pipes, the mice chewed the insulation, and so the pipes froze and burst causing the leak?
I remember a couple of years ago chatting to an electrician who said he used to have a job which was something to do with wind farms. He was grumbling that there isn't enough infrastructure in the UK to make use of and distribute all of the electricity generated by them. And as such some of it...
I think there are definitely some good rivals to Herman Miller when it comes to office chairs. Seems HM are the "go to" and perhaps price accordingly? I use a Knoll Generation, which I love. Other brands worth looking at (again, for office chairs, so a little off topic) are Steelcase and...
Interesting timing for this thread as we're about to have some plumbing work done and I'm going to insist copper is used rather than plastic. There's some existing plastic. Not too much though, so thinking to have that replaced at the same time.
There is a feed of plastic coming off the top...
Do you know which stove they are getting?
RE cladding the combustibles, I think there's something in the regs which stipulates an air gap between the non-combustible "shield" and the combustible it's shielding.
PS - the side of each shelter will have a post at front, middle and back. So I could use the pieces with rot as middle posts so that they are right in the shelter and totally protected from rain.
Hi all
Thanks for the fantastic helpful replies and sorry for the late response.
I don’t use chainsaws, but managed to get through it with an “in need of attention” 2 and a half foot saw I have. Wasn’t too bad actually. I then used axe heads/wedges and a sledge hammer to split. Following...
Hi
Apologies as this isn't a woodworking question as such... But with so many people so knowledgeable about wood here, I thought some might have some advice to offer.
I need timber for posts for wood shelters. Nothing fancy; it's all quite rough and ready with reclaimed materials where...
Thanks for the heads up on this. I was totally unaware. I've got a Skoda Fabia 2003 but have checked the .gov website and by all accounts I'm good. Might just check with the guys over on the Skoda forums though as I think I'd trust their opinions more than the government's ;)
Glad I've replaced...
I can't believe I never returned to say a huge thanks for the excellent replies. I've been getting stuck into the ash trees over the last couple of weeks, and re-read the post only to see I never replied.
So first and foremost - many thanks :) And sorry!
Onto the felled ash... I definitely...
Hi
I know there are some people about who have a Tyzack bowsaw and really rate it. I've got a chance to buy one and wondered if I could ask a coupe of questions....
1. Is there a way to check what condition it is in; anything I need to look out for?
2. Can you tension the blade, or is it...
If they ever made a Spinal Tap 2, they could use this to good effect... Instead of mixing up feet and inches for the stage set, they could mix up width depth length breadth thickness etc...
