Hi, I have a range of exotic wood offcuts that I am going to turn into pen blanks to sell. I do not turn pens so could someone give me an idea of the most popular dimensions?
I notice 20x20x150mm seems popular but are other sizes in demand?
I do like the pre-built carcasses from Howdens. I think they are of excellent quality. Get them to do a plan for you and then you can compare but I would be surprised if you found similar quality elsewhere for their prices unless you are happy to go flat pack.

All those parts can be made by hand, but I would go with the above suggestion of repurposing some old chairs initially to see if your idea works. If it does, then you need to run a costing based on the volume you think you can sell.
The CRT MK3 is a perfectly workable small workshop table or portable table. I used one many years ago and achieved good results machining smaller items.
