How to join Decking Board at 135°

It has been suggested that I get rid of some slightly raised beds (about 6" high) as the wood is rotten and unsightly and replace with 2 octagonal raised beds (about 6 foot across) - so far so good. The interior angles of an Octagon are 135° so the cutting angle of each section is 67.5° on each...

He thinks this is a caravan…

I thought caravans had wheels, even the huge mobile homes on holiday parks have wheels. Even if this structure had wheels it cannot be wheeled anywhere - but what do I know! Most sheds you buy have timber floors and have no provision for fixing to the ground so maybe all sheds should be renamed...

New file handles and how to treat?

Its not so much a finish its more not having instant dirt and a bit greasy on new handles and yes they as others will get the normal patina as Orraloon says ---- so I will go with a wipe of BLO as a base before getting proper used.

    Help with a bandsaw

If you cant get a puller try some gas blowlamp heat to expand the flywheel before it heats the shaft and then if you can tap the pulley close to the centre or lever against something not the rim. If no good a puller will sort it in a few seconds

Record Power Planer Thicknesser - RSPT260 - Connect Motor to Mains

Could it be that when the motor was wired directly to a 13 amp plug it had a good connection to the motor and if nothing electrical else has changed other than connecting the motor to the on/off switch then the switch itself could be faulty? or perhaps the mains cable to the switch (or from the...

New file handles and how to treat?

Hi folks I don't mean taking them out for an ice cream more along the lines of how to treat /blo/just let get dirty/wax/varnish? I've been given a few white (sparkly white handles) the ferrules are steel? with a modicum of rust that needs a good removal, I'm not at all precious about such things...

    Impressive or what!

Maybe its a generational thing but as soon as you mention farming or engineering to Americans (or so it seems to me) they all start wearing boiler suits but we don't seem to (as much) should I start wearing boiler suits?

    F22s again...

Hi Cozzer - good luck - you may end up with must of the floor dug up and nothing found - after that keep digging more floor?? Looking at all of the previous contributions I and others still feel that you have ignored the mains incoming water pressure and stop **** issue. That looks as if it...

    F22s again...

I haven't reread the entire posts but for goodness sake get the stop **** replaced. If it's not easily accessible get one installed on the house side of the supply and then turn the old one 90% on and you now gave a working stop ****. If the speed/volume of water is too fast regulate or turn it...

    Welfare Unit

you might be able to use pallets of the same height as a base for a usb floor fixed onto them. If you can get a welfare cabin with insulated walls ceiling then put another layer on top I think you have a starter edit just googled prices for used units ---- not cheap!

    Old nails

Would it be cosmetically possible to either put any other nail of any vintage beside the existing - punch it in a little (and use that new nail as the fixing) it might "disappear" if angled sideways slightly or punch the old one in deeper and then another old nail hammered in so that it covers...

    Old nails

Hi what is the woods eventual purpose as that might affect the method of removal. Assuming the resulting hole is to be filled maybe plugged and if the plug size doesn't matter then orraloons idea is good and quick. I guess you can't simply knock straight down below the surface and fill. I'm not...
