Coronet Minorette or Minor Drive Belt Size

I have a Minorette and want to buy a new drive belt from a nearby business that sells these goodies. Does anyone know the size/length and belt profile please or please tell me the markings on their existing belt - I think the Minorette and Minor have the same motor headstock setup. Hope someone...

    Coronet Minorette Lathe Headstock Bearing

Update Bearing puller only just fitted, did it tight tight and a clout with the hammer on the tightening end should pop the bearing along the shaft - absolutely nothing. All I'm trying to do is get the belt off and fit another! I think the existing belt is wrong it doesn't sit nicely in the...

    Coronet Minorette Lathe Headstock Bearing

Well following the instructions I managed easily to slacken/move off the bearing the l/h bearing locking ring and loosened the grub screw in the pulley so it slides on the shaft - and the phosphor bearing slid out easily But the roller bearing/ball race assembly at the other end of the...

Is this goodbye to my trusty Makita?

There is probably a flat on the shaft between the chuck and the body if there is get a spanner onto it then put Mole grips or Stilsons or suchlike on the chuck and simply unscrew the chuck from the shaft - then treat yourself to a new chuck as even if you can dislodge the drill bit somehow it...

    I Sorby table vice

Have you tried to ease the swivel lock - the part with the lug and missing bar - a large round screwdriver or steel bar would do then if it turns the lock might undue and the swivel might. I had a similar seized item some while back and used a blowlamp to get it hot - not silly hot and it helped...

    Coronet Minorette Lathe Headstock Bearing

Thank you Robbo for the manual and info much appreciated, any idea of the Minorette drive belt length as the current one is probably the original and stretched beyond reasonable adjustment. I should be able to get one from a local belt supplier.

James Panton Warranted Aberdeen Plane advice please

Thank you dickm Thats a different slant on the topic, I suspect that Panton made his own design as this extract that I have copied from Wikipedia.org relating to Mathieson appears to show he was fiercely protective of his trademark so would probably be equally protective of his designs. Looking...

James Panton Warranted Aberdeen Plane advice please

Thank you John I failed to find this info, unusual for me as I'm pretty good at online searching I think I just did my post and not researched properly - getting lazy! I have now googled around and found a couple of his planes for sale or sold most look fairly basic and not as "complex" as this...

    Coronet Minorette Lathe Headstock Bearing

I have just acquired a Coronet Minorette lathe (with various attachments) and found the headstock bearing has a bit too much play - oiled the bearing and it gently seeped out which is probably fine, So how to adjust the bearing? perhaps its by moving tightening loosening the notched circular...

James Panton Warranted Aberdeen Plane advice please

Over the years I have accumulated a number of planes both wood and metal varying shapes sizes condition and purposes I now have time to potter about/look at them and sort out those I don't need or would be better placed in the hands of an-other for use, preservation or whatever. Here is a few...
