    However you join them if you get a blockage in the tap due to sediment - easy fix just hosepipe water up the tap and cleared in seconds.

    Damaged pine architrave

    If the door is stripped pine then would the architrave look good if filled and painted with a grey (other colours are available) chalk type paint (not gloss - use a waterbased matt) as a contrast ?

    Its not quite on topic but I seem to remember a Black and Decker attachment that screwed to the bench so the drill (with a grindstone on a shaft) could be used horizontally as a bench grinder

    When changing the belt UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES be tempted to lever the reeve drive cones/pulleys they are so brittle and snap easier than egg shells.

    Now a VW Golf is about 147 horsepower - perhaps we should give up electric/petrol/diesel cars and have a Golf pulled by 147 horses - or perhaps and maybe I've got it a bit wrong somewhere? :)

    The bearings are sealed for life, unless the headstock spindle has noticeable movement leave it alone for now. On an aesthetic front even if the original stand was black (and if its a bit minor rusty go for red oxide spray can paint as a quick way of sorting that) go for a brighter finish...

    Halfway through reading the post I started to think get some simple pulleys etc and it will turn faster but then I stopped when you mentioned lathe and yes its a good use - wonder what else this slow rpm could be used for

    Just a fyi A friend of mine has the first 2 injections and just received an invite for the booster - sounds good so far but he's due to go on a cruise soon. As cruise ships are extra cautious at the moment he expects to delay his booster just in case the booster makes him fail a pre board Covid...

    I know this answer is way different to the rest but why not simply use a corded drill? No hassle and it works every time. You can get them 2nd hand Gumtree FridayAd Ebay quite cheaply.

    9904 as the bigger size will give you more choice/flexibility the smaller one cant be made bigger but the bigger one can be used for smaller - if that makes sense - unless weight is an issue --- thats my pennyworth - better get some more toast and tea now :)

    No hole through headstock

    As Paulm says It has a MT1 taper "hole" in the spindle buy a simple spur drive and just push it it, easy to fit BUT before doing that screw on the thread protector or you will have a devils job in removing the spur drive
