Nothing to see here just an empty packet of Rawlplugs

As I recall there was a hole in the "bit holder" and you put a screwdriver in to knock the bit out easy Someone must be able to find one in an old toolbox - I have but where is the box - and post a photo so the youngsters can see what it was. I doubt there is a Youtube

Nothing to see here just an empty packet of Rawlplugs

Packet just found under a floorboard my father used them and I remember "drilling" holes for him with the rawlplug plugging chisel - hit and turn - to eventually make a hole, electric drills were too expensive at the time.

    Screw definition?

Good that a replacement has been ordered - if you were in a tight spot a hacksaw across the head and you have a screw suitable for use with a flat/blade screwdriver

    Which screws for laying floorboards?

I agree glenfield and boards are going down, had to buy a few new as some old tongue and groove were far too split to go back. Have taken various advice from above, e.g felt pipe stuff + have removed most of the nails holding pipes in position and 2 had left shiny bits not quite grooves on the...

    Which screws for laying floorboards?

Yes, that's right, will decide a bit later on whether to lay floorboards as usual after thinning them a bit or maybe a say 45cm square of thinned here to go over the plastic pipe connections and floorboard the rest. Won't chipboard all of the floor as it would make it less easy than floorboards...

I have used before and forgotten about these plates so thanks Spectric I will pick some up from TLC tomorrow, I was going to use some cuts from a lightweight joist hanger, but these are ready to use. Some of the rubbish has since been removed but pipes were hot at the time, one of the white...

    Which screws for laying floorboards?

Perhaps I should have said that under this area runs the main water supplies for radiators, hot and cold to the Megaflow plus enough wiring to power Blackpool Illuminations so its screw down not nailing. Thanks I will look at the 2 suggested.

    Which screws for laying floorboards?

At last, I have lifted the carpet and underlay on my first-floor landing to sort out the cracked/broken/split floorboards. The house is 1930's and the poor condition of the flooring is due to a gaggle of heating engineers and electricians pulling them up over the years and generally mistreating...
