How to store treated timber gravel boards

After due consideration I've come to the conclusion that a wobble could affect your vision if the oscillations were in synch with fluorescent lighting and to avoid that possibility they would need to be mounted in counter (or reverse) oscillation mode so there is no possibility of a harmonic...

How to store treated timber gravel boards

Today I have had delivered 16 of 3600x100x22 treated timber gravel boards and in due course each will be cut into 3 sections That will be in a month or so - they will be stored out in the weather should I store them flat or on their side to stop them going all wibbly wobbly? Whats the opinion?

Oil and rags catching fire you tube video

Just wondered so if I put the rags in a bucket of water for a while - say an hour or so and then take them out and put in a rubbish bin if the water evaporates and the rags become very dry are they still likely to self ignite?

How to remove water staining on wooden window cill/board?

Some years ago when some double glazing was fitted I had internal wooden window boards fitted, a semi hardwood not a cedar or skirting board type of timber which then had a coat or two (I suspect) of whatever varnish was available maybe yacht varnish but now most of its long gone/worn away. Over...

    Record Maxi 1 wiring.

Drop an email with the photos to Record Power The braided one looks like an earth to go on the brass coloured nut/bolt near the connection box, cant see from the photo but there might be a strand left on it.

Red oxide ... as a finish?

Its good and sturdy - go for a known brand as some of the cheapest just might not do it, If the area justifies (nice flat bits) then a mini paint roller would give a good smooth finish - well smooth enough!

Which would be the better mitre saw to buy?

Hi Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong product but wow not an everyday purchase cost-wise - not at all cheap and maybe a bit overkill for the tasks you have outlined, does it have to be battery powered? as if not there are some great 240v saws and you have a greater choice of makes to consider.

Makita Battery Drill Chuck DHP 482

Thanks for the offer but don't bother, Ive spoken to a Makita engineer as well as the helpdesk and they're adamant no chuck changing so will take the chuck from my wobbly drill and all will be good. However its been an interesting exercise. Looking at ebay the genuine chucks are quite expensive...

Makita Battery Drill Chuck DHP 482

The kind ebay seller sent me another DHP482 and didn't ask for the previous back - guess its not worth the bother in sorting a chuck for it. However the new chuck has the same issue it doesn't tighten the same way as my previous ones, looking at this harder the new/latest 482's have a different...

Who makes the excellent paint for Wilko

So I have just partly by hand and partly machine sanded some skirting boards and 6 door frames ready in due course for primer and 2 coats waterbased satinwood. Where the sanding went too deep it exposed the odd bit of timber and the original (1930's) dark stain, I didn't try as I know the above...

    Tack Cloths after sanding?

I have just sanded 6 doors and frames (plus skirting boards) as part of the ongoing saga of bringing my house up to standard. The paint was old, oil based and l created loads of dust so next step is hoover the doors plus dry paintbrush to get dust off. Then damp/dry jcloth to remove more dust...
