    Bench Grinder problem

Depending on what you need the grinder to do Screwfix do a Titan grinder for only £49.99 or Record Power for £110 - my son has the RP version pretty good for the money https://www.recordpower.co.uk/product/rsbg8-8-bench-grinder-with-40mm-whitestone-with-uk-plug

    Wanted Strimmer

It was a combination of things, the line bump up didn't so every time I need more line I had to partly unscrew the retaining bolt and wiggle more line out, the plastic cap around that bolt was a bit tired, new spark plug with the right gap small filter in carb ok petrol filter in tank ok spark a...

    Wanted Strimmer

Any votes for the 18v Makita DUR181Z as I have batteries and charger already - my Champion petrol strimmer would no longer start so I sold it to someone who "knows about these things" - so do I - but Ive had enough of it.

    Spray glue not for wood

Thanks Fitzroy, looks as if the product would do but you need to buy the applicator gun as well so it makes it a bit pricey. I like Simons cutting the section out and blending back I think I have an old tin of ready mixed textured ceiling paint which would help that bit, hope the Artex section...

    Spray glue not for wood

Sorry this isn't a wood related post but someone may have come across the product I need. My son has just moved into a flat where there had been a recent water leak from the flat above causing some damage to some plaster based standard coving and let some artex type looking finish to an area of...

    Bulk buying bowl blanks

I know this is not the answer to the post but anyway Imo bowl blanks are ready to use no waiting for timber to dry or turn it green and wet. So 1 vote for ready to use blanks

Installing wall cupboard over electrical conduit

Wasn't the earth connected to both gas and water mains? Cross bonded or something? Dunno

Installing wall cupboard over electrical conduit

just notch the cupboard and mark inside - its done by the time you stop thinking about it or position the cupboard to avoid covering the conduit

Any views on a Makita 240v model M1901 Planer

Having just found my old Wickes electric planer after having (accidentally) left it in the rain for a few weeks and it looks a bit dubious but having given it a shake and even the plug was waterlogged - its now living in the airing cupboard for a while before I try it - I might need to buy a...

Stanley Bailey No 4 loose handle

Another vote for peterw3035 method it works, you make also need to put a normal/thin standard washer under the nut if it screws down to far - when tight it should just about be level with the top of the handle.

    Replacing a DG unit.

Wherever you buy the glass/window will advise the best way of fixing and most probably provide suitable lengths of tape or whats needed for negligible extra cost. I have bought replacement units from a local double glazing firm who were happy to help - they make a profit on the sale without any...

How to store treated timber gravel boards

Oh! what do you call the plank of wood under fence panels or close boarded fencing - intrigued

How to store treated timber gravel boards

I think so, most wibbles are complementary to a wobble so if you sort out any wobbles it automatically fixes any lurking wibbles.
