Axminster M33x 3.5 Woodturning woodscrew chuck

I have used large Stilsons in the past, to get rid of the nasty marks I ended up filing the chuck on slow speed followed by emery paper, not perfect but looked better

    Looking for a electrical engineer

Hi Bob008 Well the good news is that you have a positive id of the failed part you now need to find a person/company that can do component level repairs on circuit boards, there are quite a few out there, I have had a pcb repaired in the past. I doubt the transformer is unique and bespoke to...

    Got my first 3D printer

I quite like the idea of a 3D printer but I don't think I would get the use out of it, most things I break or would like to have seem fixable. I would need to make/print a lot of things before I broke even on the purchase price? No doubt others will point out the errors in my thinking :)

    Laptop "repair"?!

When you buy your next laptop please make sure it has a SSD drive they're electronic - silent - and much faster than old style hard drives. The difference in boot up time is remarkable. I bought a HP a couple of years ago and a short while later had a SSD drive for a present, my local laptop...

    Rust proofing car.

Dont forget the trusty Skoda Roomster. Like a Yeti but a tad smaller. I'm on my 2nd which is superb the first one had a issue for a while but £800 later and a new ECM? and my sons still piling on the miles it was a 3 cylinder (I think other VAG use them). On my current one the number plate...

Safe disposal of an unusual nail gun

How many cartridges left? 100's or a few? If a few discharge them by firing the hilti against a brick or concrete block - the tool without cartridges is a piece of inert metal just take it to your local council recycling depot and put it in the scrap metal section. It will get recycled with all...

    Possible drain block issue

Look at the reply from tris. Bet its a washbasin or bath not used and the water trap/seal is empty. Next time you get the smell run a pint or two of water into both of these. And see if it stops
