    Floating staircase steel work

I have never walked up/down on this type of staircase but they look a bit scary. Perhaps they are only good for a certain age group i.e. not under 10 or over 50 or any age of a nervous disposition? Long term a traditional staircase (with a balustrade) will be more useful/saleable/safe.

How to fit a 3.50 x 8 tyre and tube

Ive done this a few times its a right bxxxxx to do, Ive used long strong tyre screwdrivers to force the tyre over the rim and used my foot in conjunction to help. As Nail says push the bead (on the same side as the tyre lever) into the well as it gives a bit more room. On one occasion I went to...

Now how about Spray Foam Insulation for your SHED ! ?

Just came across one of the ---- you must spray foam your attic under the tiles to get great energy savings adverts ------ IMO its the worst thing you can do to a house roof - and I'm not to do a pros and cons but for a shed? Sounds bonkers but why not? Anyone tried it or have any thoughts about it?

Need to streamline my hand tools

I like Scruples approach but find when called to fix something for someone I end up needing a mix of all sorts of tools - so after collecting tools from various boxes do the job -- do I put the tools back where they came from or do they just end up as another collection of sundry tools?

    Another scam?

The address is in ----- which is not far from me - I'm pretty certain the address is a set of smallish industrial units on part of a farm (or maybe where a farm used to be) I think surrounded by fields. From the website it looks to be genuine to me (but it would) Have you tried filling in the...

extending concrete base with a concrete trench, bad idea?

Perhaps square paving slabs laid on a good bed of 6inch concrete would do the job. Slabs positioned so that the shed floor bearers sit centrally on them. BTW I cant see the point of tying the old concrete slab into new If you went that way of extending

    Naive wood-turning question.

As others have said make it more round with a saw - making it round from as is - not a challenge I would take up

    Sikkens failure

A thought or 2 Just looked at their website (Dulux) and it looks as if you've done what they suggest Is the oak (old wood/bench?) very open grain and the product didn't get a good soak into the grain? End grain really soaked? Was it pretty dry when applied? If not is it possible that wood...

    Handrail brackets

Something like this? https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=how+to+join+handrail&view=detail&mid=424DA6009BAF006B882E424DA6009BAF006B882E&FORM=VIRE Should work, imo glue will not withstand the force of someone pulling on the handrail but will cosmetically help, definitely not pva look for...

    Reinforcing loose wall plugs.

For the sake of my comment lets assume its a normal wall not plasterboard and then the OP used the screws and rawlplugs that came with the stairgate and the rawlplugs are only in as deep as the coat of plaster. If this is the case remove the plugs drill into the brickwork say an inch and a...

Lead flashing or non lead flashing?

I was going to suggest a torch on roofing felt such as a capping felt then thought the polycarbonate sheet might not take the heat, then lead does seem best but its 2.1 m wide and 2m long so it may be tricky/heavy across the length/width to actually fit. Perhaps you dummy fit the roof then mark...
