    Vintage clamp/pliers?

What a lovely design. I think that would be a good project for a machinist to replicate.

How much should a gymnasium roof cost?

Having had some roof work done at my place recently for the tune of £750,000, I think I can see how. I’m guessing cover roof is leaving the existing roof in place and overlaying, the same as part of mine was. They’re hopefully adding insulation. There may be existing insulation that needs...

    A smoking ban?

Yeah, probably. I like this style of van as it’s a ramping down rather than a blanket ban. Fully banning it just wouldn’t work, especially for those who have been smoking for 20, 30, 40 years. This way the smokers die off without being replaced. Tax income reduces but so would the healthcare...

    A smoking ban?

Aah, gotcha. I think it’ll be a ban after the last lot through rather than banning anyone existing. So it’s 18 now and basically they would be the last generation allowed. You at 18 can smoke now but no one younger than you is ever allowed.

    A smoking ban?

I’m not sure I understand what you mean? Essentially what they would be doing would be saying only people born in 2024 (for example) or earlier can smoke.

    A smoking ban?

I think it’s a great idea and should have been done years ago. Yep, I’m sure there will be some that fudge their age but it’ll slowly diminish as the years go on. At the point of it hitting 30 or so then it’ll be hard for the kids to start. We have to do something. As to vapes - disposable...

Apple wood? How about change the orientation - looks like there might be a fairly solid amount of wood if you flip it 90 degrees.

A light fitting for a log!

So the look is a piece of yew, trimmed to this sort of shape: Then the light recessed in like this: Wood Beam LED Pendant Light Chandelier Wooden Chandelier - Etsy UK Making a diffuser sounds good! I am concerned about the slight wiggle of the log versus what goes in.

A light fitting for a log!

Good evening, I’ve meant to ask this for a while but kept forgetting. I had planned to do a little sketch but perhaps text will suffice. Essentially, I’m wondering if anyone has a view on a type of light for recessing into a log as a feature light. A standard bit of strip LED would be too...

Best handsaw to cut 30-40cm diameter wet log? Bow saw?

The thing is, the more you chop off while it’s wet, the less you may have when it’s dry. Seal it as is, leave it to dry and then hopefully you will have a minimal amount to remove before in solid wood. If you trim it now you may have to trim more later if your sealing isn’t quite good enough...
