    Can you remember.....?

The cricket version was a bit iffy as well...

    Can you remember.....?

That's nothing! There's even a Subbuteo cricket game up in the attic somewhere, and I know we once bought a similar "board" game direct from/endorsed by Lords. (Up the steps, turn left at Cluedo, and look behind the Monopoly box!)

    Joke Thread II

Bumped into one of my neighbours earlier today, walking two dogs. "I didn't know you had dogs". "I don't. They are my sisters...." "Well, you don't look alike, do you?"

    Can you remember.....?

Been digging further in the drawer.... How many of these damn things have we got?! Were there that many rainy days?!

    Can you remember.....?

Here you are, chaps. Bring you out in a cold sweat, Phil?! And yes, Richard_C, little blue tins. I remember reading that they were originally made to house gramophone needles, but the game designer bought a job lot of 'em....true or not, no idea.

    Can you remember.....?

Ah! It's OK... Found it! Unbelievably, "Put and Take"! Bet that took a while to dream up!

    Can you remember.....?

....what you call the game that uses these spinners, please? I've had 'em in my drawer for 20 years plus, but can't remember what the game was called! All solid brass, with sides engraved with the likes of "take two" and "put three".... They sat next to my tinned "Owzthat" cricket game, "Liar...

    Replacement sofa seat foam?

Had the same problem about 4 years ago, with a 3 cushion leather Chesterfield. The cushions had been well and truly trashed by allowing the dogs on 'em over almost a 20 year period, and the slightly domed foam had lost its strength. We tried buying replacement foam and cutting it to shape/size...

    Joke Thread II

Had to smile at the above... Many years ago, I and a pal were in my then pride-and-joy MG Midget, queueing at a T junction. The car in front indicated to turn right, and was inching forward, ready for a gap in the traffic. I was wanting to turn left, so as he inched forward and steering right...

    Joke Thread II

Very good! (Hope you realise that I'm only teasing you with some of my posts! I wish you no harm!) Happy Christmas, Stuart. Hope you had a good one, and best wishes for '23.

    Joke Thread II

I'm just waiting for Stuart to ask what's so funny about Al and Ex....

    Joke Thread II

It's time to roll out the ol' traditional Xmas joke. Old, but a goodie for those who don't know it... Christmas just isn't what it used to be. I remember Christmases past when we'd be all excited about the pile of presents in front of us. We'd furiously rip the wrapping paper off to see...

Nothing to see here just an empty packet of Rawlplugs

Crikey! Can I just verify how the second photo was taken, please?!;)

Nothing to see here just an empty packet of Rawlplugs

Can't remember the brand as I write, but as recent as two years ago I found a metal tin containing asbestos fibres which, when wetted, could be made into wallplugs. "Rawlplugs", maybe?

    Accu-Burr Burnisher

I splashed out on an Arno Carbide job some years ago. Can't fault it.

    A lightbulb moment, but...

I've always tried to aim for circa 800 lumens equivalent. Anything less - let's say comparable to an old 30 or 40w bulb - just doesn't cut it in my opinion.

    A lightbulb moment, but...

Got one or two around the house, but only in rooms where we don't spend much time. Prefer not to use 'em because of the really high pitched sound that they emit. It's the same with the 12v system that's in the bathroom...been threatening to pull that out for some time.

    A lightbulb moment, but...

In what respect? You can still buy 'em!
