    Joke Thread III

"Ey up, Paddy! Long time, no see! How's married life treating you?!" "Oh...OK, I suppose...." "Cheer up, matey! You can't be regretting marriage already, surely?!" "Well, it's been three months now, and...y'know....it's getting a bit .....er......strained....." "Strained? Sorry to hear that...

    Titanic

Interview with a previous "tourist". Note his comments about "death" being mentioned three times on page one of the waiver... Let's be honest - as soon as the news broke here on Monday, everybody "knew" they were dead. It's just that nobody wanted to say so. That deep, nothing on hand to...

    Titanic

Just watching a news "update" on the BBC. Baffling, how the sub that actually got down to the Titanic last year should have been flown out two days ago, but wasn't because of "permissions". (?) Anyway, supposed sorted this morning, so the sub was loaded onto the huge yank plane at Jersey...

Serious help needed from any guitarist

If you're looking for inspiration, and you've a bit of time on your hands, search for YouTube jobs featuring Eric Gales. He's actually right-handed, but he was taught to play by his left-handed brother, so he too plays guitar as a leftie. His guitar is actually strung upside down - i.e the...

    why?

John, I think you'll find that you're blond, not blonde. Unless,of course, there's something you're not telling us?! ;) I am actually reverting to my early years by going blond in parts. Or, as my wife refers to it, grey. :giggle:
  7. C

    why?

OK..... Lounge lizard, always on the lookout for.... Blondes, traditionally recognised as being slightly dim. "Special thermometer", kept in man's trousers. "Special thermometer" suddenly out of man's trousers. Blonde sees his "special thermometer" and expresses surprise that it could "take her...

    why?

Reminds me of the old joke about the lounge lizard and his attractive blonde target, when he mentions that he's got a very special thermometer that he'd like to show her....he has it in his pocket, of course. She takes one look at it, and says "You're going to take my temperature with that?!

    Tiny 8 x 6 workshop, Part 2. Sort of...

Hmmm..... In that case, I'm none the wiser really! The SuperFOIL stuff is a sandwich, with foil both sides, some foamy-type stuff and an internal "vapour control layer" in between.

    Tiny 8 x 6 workshop, Part 2. Sort of...

Yes, the bigger/weightier/underused stuff now sits on castered cut-down pallets under the bench. Rafter space is a bit trickier seeing there are no rafters! This is a pent-roofed 8x6, with the highest side giving me about 3" head clearance!

God, no. I left Norn Iron over 50 years ago. Visited old homes in Bangor and Knock/Cherryvalley a few times over the years, but there are no family left over there now....

    Tiny 8 x 6 workshop, Part 2. Sort of...

Yes... I can honestly say that it's thanks to the RBAI that I've become the person I am today. A complete nonentity. :giggle:

    Tiny 8 x 6 workshop, Part 2. Sort of...

Yes, I see your point. As the regards your "insulated sandwich" suggestion, that's why I'd thought of the SuperFOIL roll I've got spare. Pulling it taut might be fun! (This was something not taught at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution when I was there! Or had I fallen asleep that day?!)

    Tiny 8 x 6 workshop, Part 2. Sort of...

A few things. I've a couple of cigar box guitars I want to finish...I've a '84 Gordon-Smith that needs a refret and perhaps a body inlay. I used to earn a living as a pro marquetarian some years ago, until I realised that folk didn't want to pay me any more than £2.00 an hour for doing it, so it...

    Tiny 8 x 6 workshop, Part 2. Sort of...

Getting on with sorting the contents into some kind of sensible order, in heat that's approaching the mid-80s in there, where else does my mind go to but next winter..... 8x6 as you know, no heating over winter. Corrugated roofing Onduline panels attached to a wooden frame. So far, waterproof...

Well, well, Stuart.....who'd have thought it! Are you the damn thing gone wild? Worrying outta your mind? The damn thing gone blind? (Just been (trying to) sort out the shed, Stu. It's definitely a case of Betty Swallocks, matey....)

Managed to grab this one, courtesy of borrowing the next door neighbour's phone. What you can't see is all the chaos to the right. There's plastic shelving there for the minute - bloody useless, don't bother - so that's coming out next, and I'm going to nick sams93 and nosuchhounds ideas re...
