    Marquetry inlay

I tried to earn a living from it 30+ years ago - not involving guitars, but everything else I could think of at the time. What kicked me off was learning that the sister one of my then mates had made a chessboard, which looked absolutely superb. (The chessboard, not my mate's sister. Oh, I don't...

    Marquetry inlay

Thanks Fred48 and all the others... Yes, it's the first time we've been without a dog for over 40 years, and although we've been through all the other's final days as well, this one seemed the worst, perhaps because it brings home that none of us are immortal...

    Marquetry inlay

Lost my chocolate labrador a couple of months ago, so decided to add a marquetry inlay in his memory to the telecaster-type guitar I'd just finished. The problem was that I'd already poly'd the body, so had to rout out the shape to just under 0.6mm to enable me to sand the inlay. Too shallow for...

    Email account has been hacked.

paulrbarnard's observation is quite right - this is something different to your email problem. If I wanted to change my eBay password, I'd have to enter my current one. Unless you happened to use the same password for both email and eBay accounts, how would the villain know it in order to alter...

Another workbench on youtube but what a bench

Astounding. I'd like to say that it's virtually identical to mine.... I'd like to, but....

    Email account has been hacked.

To check to see if anything of yours has been breached, here's a useful site : Have I Been Pwned: Check if your email has been compromised in a data breach Enter your email address, give it a few seconds, and then scroll to the bottom. It shows the organisations that have experienced data...

What is wrong with some people?!

Wrong, Jacob. I wasn't offended in any shape or form. It was a case of being dumb-struck as to how "sensitive" some folk can be these days, that's all!

    Can you advise, please?

Crikey! And how's your eyesight now?! :giggle:

What is wrong with some people?!

She'd arrived too late at check-in, so thought she'd run out on the tarmac and shout at the Qantas captain so he'd let her on the aircraft.... And no, that's not a joke. That's exactly what's happening.

What is wrong with some people?!

I give you two totally different BBC links, to make you wonder if (1) is it catching, or (2) are we all doomed? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-67294809 Answers on a plain postcard, please, to .....

    .... and talking of "shrinkflation"....

No. Not the weight of crisps in a packet, nor the reduced diameter of a Wagon Wheel....this time it's how the one time much vaunted Nescafe coffee granules seem to have reverted to their powder form.... Yes, I am bored. I'm waiting for some quick-drying varnish to do so. It claims 30 minutes...

    Bloody officialdom....

Quite. In fact, apart from the aforementioned form, I can't remember the last time I actually signed anything!
  14. C

    Bloody officialdom....

Exactly. (See post #13) Now you'll have to apply by post, and one of the further inanities on the form is restricting the size of your signature to fit inside the box. I don't know about yours, but my normal scrawl would go way above and below the area. Knowing how finicky their system is, you...

    Bloody officialdom....

Well, as a tailend to the story, I've just received my new licence, in a little over a week. The category codes on the rear look a bit different, but that's from memory because you have to send your original with your application. I could look 'em up, I suppose, but.... The main thing that...

    Can you advise, please?

You lot are very inventive, I know, so can you suggest a way that these can be made, please?! "These" can be seen on the following youtube job - starting at about 13'50... "Fillets" to aid making numerous identical-width stringers, rather than having to measure time and time again. The...
