What's the most astounding work in wood you've seen?

Anne Boleyn had an extra finger on her right hand, so 'tis reckoned. Wasn't very lucky for her....

Here ya go, Pete.... Regards to you....

    Jealously watching an old video....

Will do later, Pete. It's an archived job from this mob - https://www.furnitology.com/ - dating back to (perhaps) the 90's or even 80's, so it's not the bee's knees for clarity! In fact, Bristol_Rob's modern-day video shows everything a lot better, but I will add the link when I can access my...

    Jealously watching an old video....

....earlier, featuring the talent of Silas Kopf. He's blessed with an Excalibur Sommerville (with an astoundingly long throat), with the table set to give a bevelled cut with his 2/0 blades. He's an expert. I'm far from. He has an Excalibur. I haven't, but have a very tasty Proxxon DSH, the...

Love it. That vice looks the business.

    The joy Of Citric Acid

Pass. Never had that myself, but in fairness most things I've done have been "dull" to start with...although the seized secateurs were shiny and still are. From your previous posts I'd guess you were fairly accurate with your measurements (although I suspect they're not crucial to a few grams)...

My most horrible food mistake so far...

Liver. Kidney. Anything with garlic in. Buttermilk. The first three are my father's fault. He loved 'em, so as a then-rebellious teenager, I didn't. However, I did try them when a little older. I was right, first time. As a kid, we used to visit a relative in the wilds of Galway, a farmer's...

    US Election November 5th

As my mother used to say, "He's not all there...." I think he's unstable. Totally irrational. Childlike....and childish. Dangerous in many ways. He'll again not accept the vote result if it happens to not go his way. Just as a child throws a tantrum. I'm truly amazed that he's got so many...

    The exasperation of tawk-to...

No, not some Dickensian novel. The other evening I asked Chronos Tools if they held a particular spare part. I used their website auto-enquire form. The next morning, I got their response, "No. Sorry". Fair enough. At least they responded. They apparently use a system called "tawk-to" to gather...

    The joy Of Citric Acid

Don't forget the tiny squirt of washing up liquid. You'll find that in the kitchen. (Y'know, that room where your wife goes) It's usually green - although it can be yellow - and sits around the rectangular thing called "the sink". Any confusion, ask your wife... You may find that your question...

    The joy Of Citric Acid

...erm....should've have added "per litre of water"! Out of interest, that just about fills a 300g Nescafe jar, in which I've just sorted 2 pairs of rusty pliers, a plane blade and chip breaker! It really is good stuff!

    The joy Of Citric Acid

Suspect the measurements aren't absolutely crucial. My post (2 or 3 above) shows that a normal tea or coffee mug will hold about 200g of anything. Ergo, half a mug will be around the 100g of citric you want, and roughly half that will give you the 40g of soda....

    The joy Of Citric Acid

The man's inspired! Strange to tell, I've been searching for the ingredients for two "DIY" potions recently: One to soften veneers, and the other is this homemade rust remover. Had to order the citric acid off eBay - our local chemist "doesn't stock it". Couldn't find any Arm & Hammer washing...

    Some mistake, surely?

I'm the same with Fahrenheit and Centigrade. Still feel obliged to use the old 9,5 and 32 during any forecast.... 68F feels a lot hotter than 20C!

    Some mistake, surely?

Think I've a whole socket set in Whitworth somewhere in the attic....

    Losing a pet

I know, I know, I know....these photo's are to celebrate the loyalty and love that we exchange with all these wonderful animals, but I can't help but feel the sadness behind each and every picture... As for the poster who'd said "never again", I've done exactly the same, taking on a (now one...

    What's this, chaps?

Hmmmm..... Good point, and well made, Terry - Somerset. No heat source down there. Couple of air bricks that I can see through. Constant temperature, I'd think. A fridge freezer and another small fridge. Come to think, both have been down there - and running - for almost 20 years, so I'm...
