    Toilet flushing system

I would second the use of Dudley siphons. I have had problems one of my toilets for a few hearted and replaced a like for like which was cheaper. But have just recently fitted the Dudley, and it was very easy to set up and feels solid and precise when flushing. Of course this is only a month or...

    Router trouble (DeWalt 625 / Trend T11 / CMT 1850)

Well yesterday, I tried out my router again in the table. Before I screwed it back in place I ran it separately to make sure it still worked, which it did. So feeling +ve, I installed it and set about rebating some timber for a bench I am making for my daughter. BUT - yet again, the router...

    Router trouble (DeWalt 625 / Trend T11 / CMT 1850)

@johnnyb - thanks for the suggestion - if my CMT conks out again, I may well go for the Triton

    Router trouble (DeWalt 625 / Trend T11 / CMT 1850)

Well, the next stage in my saga is as follows. Following up on @Spectric 's suggestions, this evening I cleaned out the gaps in the commutator copper strips. But to be honest I couldn't see that there was anything there! I then fashioned crude sandpaper scrub and rotated the armature to scrub...

    hearing

I am now 71. I have been wearing aids for nearly 20 years now. My hearing is unbalanced due to getting Menieres disease which almost destroyed the hearing in my right ear. My left ear was left relatively untouched until another attack about a decade later. I have always gone NHS, but then I got...

    Router trouble (DeWalt 625 / Trend T11 / CMT 1850)

No worries @accipiter - all advice is welcome. I have an old Trend table which doesn’t have the NVR switch. It’s in many respects now quite a basic table but has done the job for me for over 20 years!! I am going to have a better look at the CMT again this afternoon and decide whether it’s just...

    Router trouble (DeWalt 625 / Trend T11 / CMT 1850)

If my next investigation of the innards of the CMT fails, which is very likely(!), then I am looking to buy a new 1/2inch router to fit into my router table. I was wondering what suggestions everyone might have for me - budget max of £250. I have had a quick look at various routers but it is...

    Router trouble (DeWalt 625 / Trend T11 / CMT 1850)

Thanks Spectric, no I haven't looked at those details. Will try and have a look. But to be honest I'm not sure to access the armature and commutator easily, as taking everything apart doesn't look easy - no obvious screws/bolts to undo!

    Router trouble (DeWalt 625 / Trend T11 / CMT 1850)

Well I spoke too soon! I started doing some work again with the router fixed in my router table. All went well for about 15 minutes and then the motor just stuttered and slowed right down with complete stops and then a spluttering slow start and intermittent spins! So, I took the top off again...

Sowing the First Seeds of 2023

The sun makes me feel that i should begin seed sowing. I did plant some onion sets back in the autumn and these are coming on nicely under cloches. Also planted some garlic bulbs and these are doing well. But all the other veg I have in mind will still have to wait. My big issue just now is...

    Router trouble (DeWalt 625 / Trend T11 / CMT 1850)

I have just got round to fitting the new brushes. And to my great surprise my router is now working again. To be honest I am not at all sure what the fault was on the old brushes. If they were worn, they didn't seem to show it. But anyway, that has saved me the cost of a new 1/2inch router...

    Peoples views on the bay

I use eBay for my sales. I tend to sell small stuff which are surplus from my dad, as well as tools I no longer want. I also sell a number of my daughter's bits and pieces. I use Royal Mail, and have been quite happy with them. Out of nearly 500 sales (and receiving over £5k in total) I have...

    Router trouble (DeWalt 625 / Trend T11 / CMT 1850)

Thanks Disinterior, I have taken out the brushes. They both seem still quite long though. But I will bite the bullet and buy a couple from Mills and fit them and see if they do the trick. Otherwise it might still be a new router! I have attached photos

    Router trouble (DeWalt 625 / Trend T11 / CMT 1850)

Thanks for the info Distinterior. I'll have a look at the brushes tomorrow and see what I think. Over the nearly 20 years I have used it a reasonable amount in a router table, so it is possible they may have worn out.

    Router trouble (DeWalt 625 / Trend T11 / CMT 1850)

Hi, I know this is an old thread, but my CMT1E has just stopped! Firstly it slowed down, and then refused to start. So do you think I have the same problem? I am not really an electronic tech guy, so not that comfortable with going inside to see what the problem is, but to be honest the wires...

Nothing to see here just an empty packet of Rawlplugs

I used these when I was in my teens! Back in the 60s, as dad was always keen that I learn to use my hands - him being an engineer by trade. He was never very good at woodworking, but precocious was his forte. I learnt al lot from him and also going to the works he was a foreman at. Being the...

    Cappuccino machine

I am quite happy with my small deLonghi. It takes ground coffee. I use Taylors of Harrogate decaf ground bags for later in the day, And have used a local independent coffee shop for me caffeine ground bags. The milk frother wand works great for me. We are very happy with our set up for coffees...
