Any tips for a small paint drying station?

That is a very interesting solution. From time to time I do some painting of small items and also medium sized items - up to a metre square for example. I just try and finish in as clean a location as possible, which is usually my garage as I have a separate workshop where I do the dusty work.

    1/2" Router

I have an old axminster 1/4inch router which i use very infrequently for work on small pieces. I find that size manageable for hand held work. I also have a Triton TRA001, which after being repaired under warranty by Triton is a super table mounted router. It is much too unwieldy for me to...

Cleats for a smallish shelf unit

Thanks. Yes I saw that in the spec, so am thinking I will recess the part which of the cleat which attaches to the shelf unit so that I can ensure it fits flush to the wall. I will be rebating the back board so that the cleat is hidden and can still engage with the part which is screwed to the...

Cleats for a smallish shelf unit

I am making a small shelf unit to hold some of my mum's tea set. It will be 6 saucers and side plates and 6 cups. It's not that big or weighty as such. Dimensions approximately 85cm wide by 45cm high and approx 8 or 9cm deep. I am thinking a French cleat would be best and have come across this...

    House building

So you are in favour of building on village greens and other public parks and open spaces just because they are in public ownership? So much for quality of life!

    House building

I agree with @Cooper on this. The last 27 years have seen government's siding with housebuilders. Local authorities have been sidelined as they have have been denied the ability to build their own houses and also when it comes to planning, the housebuilderrs have known that can appeal directly...

    Sideways Pincers but for what

I don't know if this helps, but something similar for sale on eBay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403956853855 - says it is used in leather working/cobblers. Don't know if that is true.

    Bosch PBS 75 Belt sander

An update. I decided on a bodge job. I filed a groove in the sprocket hole as a sloping vee shape so that it would align with the flat on the axle. I then created a small shaped metal piece from a galvanised wire nail so that it fitted the bee shape and had a flat to have a tight fit to the...

    Buying from Europe

It's not the EU punishing us, it's the brexiteers punishing us! They still spout out through the right wing press, their shameful think tanks, and american right wing nutcases the message that we must hate Europe! It's just unbelievable and to cap it all Sunak can't be bothered to attend the...

    Bosch PBS 75 Belt sander

Hi, thanks everyone. I am going to be occupied with one of my nieces' weddings this weekend so haven't had the opportunity so far to tinker with the sander as I had hoped. I will report back hopefully in the next week on progress on doing a bodge job first. I appreciate the suggestions for...

    Bosch PBS 75 Belt sander

Thanks Andrew, I have just got round to trying to order it and while I can put the item in my basket when I try to check out it still says that the roller assembly is "out of stock". So that seems like a no-goer. I don't think it is possible to order from the other countries from Bosch website...

    Bosch PBS 75 Belt sander

Hi, thanks that’s a useful thought. It might be easier for me to bodge together with a small taper lock piece of metal and glue that in, and the nut then loctited in place

    Bosch PBS 75 Belt sander

Thanks for this. I have had another look and it is aluminium/alloy but with a steel/alloy (I think) sleeve which has worn away. Unfortunately the design is such that the nut to hold the sprocket on goes on the inside of it, so I don’t think your idea would work

Not to worry. Thanks for looking.

    Bosch PBS 75 Belt sander

That’s what I’m beginning to think . Thanks yes the flats inside the sprocket have failed completely

    Bosch PBS 75 Belt sander

Hi ChaiLatte. I have to hold my hands up - that post was me as well! I did manage to get the sander going by tightening the nut holding the sprocket to the roller, but sadly it now seems to have failed altogether! So I am back to square one in trying to find a new solution. The ideas suggested...

    Bosch PBS 75 Belt sander

Thanks Sideways, actually I do have a friendly model engineer next door to me! But my problem is that the sprocket needs to have two internal flats and am not sure that he would be able to make that for me! But I haven't asked him yet !!

    Bosch PBS 75 Belt sander

Hi Phill05, thanks. I have attached photos showing the part. it's 4cm at its widest on the teeth (i haven't measured the flange), and 2.5cm deep. The shaft is 8mm. The big issue is that the sprocket has two internal flats to engage with the shaft of the roller, so I have attached a photo of...

    Bosch PBS 75 Belt sander

My PBS75 sander has developed a problem. I know what it is, but can't find the spare part to fix it. It's the sprocket which is attached to the drive belt and drives the roller for the sanding belt. It appears that Bosch no longer supply the spare part either on its on as a complete roller...
