    Two fused switches. Help

KISS, ( keep it simple stupid ) Thank you all for your help and advise but I think for a utility room I've been over complicating what is really a simple process so what I've decided to do is move the sockets above the work top put two cable tidies in and put the plugs up through the worktop...

    Two fused switches. Help

I know this should be done by a qualified electrician but no one wants to do small jobs anymore and if they do they will charge a fortune to do to either put you off hiring them or if you do they will be rubbing their hands together all the way to the bank. It will be cheaper for me to do it and...

    Two fused switches. Help

Thank you, much appreciated. I know a lot of people who bought a lot of reels of the old coloured cables when the new colours came in to effect to make it easier when working on older houses and kept some reel back in case they needed for their own homes, I wish I had done that.

    Two fused switches. Help

Hi all, I have a washing machine and tumble dryer under a worktop plugged into a double Socket also under the worktop. What I would like to do is put two or a double isolated or fused switch above the work top. The cables to the socket won’t reach for me to connect to the new switches so some...

    Finishing gazebo

Back in March I posted about a problem I had with a gazebo I’m building, I had water coming from within the timber to the surface only to be trapped behind the varnished finish. After some advice I received from edufvdb (thank you) I tried oxalic acid. After I removed the varnish I applied the...

    Gazebo

Thank you but I varnished it in my shed with three good coats. It’s not the only project I’ve done that has turned out the same I did some planters and a grab rail and all have turned out the same and with each new project I make sure I really cover it and with a different type of varnish, I...

    Gazebo

Thank you, if it is I hope its not too deep if it is I will have no choice once I’ve repaired it but to paint it which is a shame as it looked good when I first built it. If I could have afforded it I would have used oak but it so expensive.

    Gazebo

Hi all, I’m hoping someone can help me, I’m in the middle of building a gazebo which I started last year. The main structure is made of pine all of which as far as I know was dry enough for me to begin the build. All the cross members are reused partition studs so I know they were dry. I...

Hello all, I’m Kevin, I live on the Isle of Wight. Thank you for letting me join this forum. I have been interested in woodworking for some time now and would very much like to improve on my skills. At the moment I’m in the middle of turning my shed into a woodworking shop. So far I’ve sealed...
