Anybody use Morrells LightFast Stain before?

What the difference between a wood stain and a wood dye. I normally use the old Rustin's spirit based dye but was thinking of giving Morrells stain a go as it's half the price of Rustin's but was wondering what the difference was between them, given that both are spirit based, is there a...

    Titebond UK low stock levels

All seem to be readily available on eBay as well, although obviously at a higher price, I was just wondering why their UK supplier was in such short supply, which would normally indicate a problem somewhere, unless they have always been like that. Myfordman thanks for the reminder about...

    Auto switch for vacuum

Hi all. Anyone got any recommendations for an autoswitch for my shop vac, the sort that turns the vac on when the power tool being used is switched on, I have seen a few for the American market but they obviously don't work in the UK. Anyone using one they would recommend. Thanks. Paul

    Orbital Sander under £200.

Most stuff is made in China these days, even things by some well known and respected makers have many of their tools or parts within made in China and then boxed and marketed as if they made everything in their own factory, which is simply not true.

    Orbital Sander under £200.

Another thumbs up for the Sealey one from me as well, very quiet on the slower speeds and not too bad on the faster ones either, under £200 and has a 3 year guarantee, Have a look at the Peter Millard comparison video on YouTube where he compares the Sealey to a Chines clone.

Storing Water Stones between sharpening sessions

Thanks for the replies. None of my stones came with instructions, no surprise there though as they are the cheap double sided ones sold on eBay and Amazon to those of us who knew no better. I suspect I will keep them in a container of water untill they are worn out and then get some better...
