Help needed cutting segments for bowls

Just found an app called simple segment calculator which seem to function. The one linked above is only available for devices running an old version of Android, unfortunately it doesn't say how old it needs to be.

Help needed cutting segments for bowls

Hi all Hope this is in the correct section. I hope someone can help with this as maths is not my strong point. When cutting segments to glue together to make a bowl, I know the angle part is easy that is 360° divided by the number of segments, divided by 2 gives the angle for each end of the...

    Washing machine

Has anyone checked to see if the balance weights are done up tight. That's those chunks of concrete or occasionally metal bolted to the drum. Just because it's new don't assume they are tight. I also assume the transit bolts and straps have been removed.

    DIY Beeswax polish

Thanks for the very detailed reply. I was going to follow the Kim Tipping method shown in the video linked above Which calls for 1 part wax, 1 part diatomaceous earth and 4 parts all. All parts are by weight, so eg 1oz wax, 1oz diatomaceous earth and 4oz mineral oil. And that makes a nice...

    DIY Beeswax polish

Didn't get an answer to my question, got lots of recommendations for using something else but no help with basic question. Which was why was my 2 to 1 mix so much softer than everyone's 4 to 1 mix. Not actually using it as a polish, I was going to add an abrasive to make my own version of...

    Repairing plastic

Have a look on YouTube, there are loads of videos showing different methods of fixing cracks in plastic, although most use heat to melt plastic (cable ties seem to be a popular source of plastic in these) and strengtheners like staples or even fine wire wool also melted into the repair. I have...

Any recommendations for light, mains powered angled drill for bowl sanding?

I wonder if its possible to modify a low cost mains angle grinder to take a sanding head, especially one with variable speed.

    Microwave ovens.

I used to have a high end meter and tested thousands in my day job at the time and only ever encountered 2 that leaked, one had a crack In the door choke, what is often referred to as the seal and one that had managed to burn a hole in the back of the cavity. There were loads of cheap MW...

    Microwave ovens.

Most fail when fat drips down the back of them, then every time you use the oven it gets cooked until its cooked enough to burn, then it conducts and you get a nice light show just before it burns a hole through the cover. Some can be moulded plastic some are a composite sheet and some are...
