What should I do with a WW2 12 cylinder magneto

My retired aircraft restorer friend has forwarded this information to a current restorer at the museum, but he says unless they need one now, they will probably not be interested. That being said, once a Smithsonian airplane guy finds out that there's an old piece of history out there, he's...

What should I do with a WW2 12 cylinder magneto

I have a friend who used to be an aircraft restorer at the USA's Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. I'll drop him a line to see if knows anyone.

Help me with my first ever mig welds, why do they look like Swiss cheese and will I ever improve (cry for help after being demolished on Reddit)

Do whatever you did on that upper right weld. Just keep trying and messing with speeds and voltages. Also understand that the thickness of whatever you're welding will require that you fiddle with those speeds and Volts again. You'll get it, just keep practicing.

    CNC for kitchen cabinets

That's what I thought too, but for panel jobs like what you're doing I'd be out in the driveway with a circular saw and a straightedge. I just finished a pantry cabinet for the missus and the only thing I used the CNC (Shapeoko 4XXL) for were the fronts of the internal drawers to ensure...

SCM Minimax S45 Bandsaw Teardown & Overhaul

No expert as I was an electrical type during my earning years and not mechanical, but I used a 14" Delta as a hobbyist for maybe 40 years and never relieved the tension on whatever blade happened to be on the machine. My thought process for leaving tension on was twofold: 1: I was concerned...

SCM Minimax S45 Bandsaw Teardown & Overhaul

Hello to all, I just bought a used S45 to replace a 40 year-old 14" Delta that threw itself to its death in my driveway when one of its casters hit something as I was pushing it around in my driveway. Several things got bent and its trunnion casting broke so it was either rebuild a saw I never...

    Hello from USA

Well, it did now Pastor! BTW, thank you and Deema for the rebuild posts about the Mini Max S45 bandsaw. I just snagged one from the local hardwood shop and it helped greatly although mine seems to be a simpler machine. There is no rack gear affair for adjusting the vertical throat as with...

Looking for a decent introduction course on using a cnc

I know this is a late reply, but try this... Go to https://carbide3d.com/carbidecreate/ and wait for a window to pop up asking for your email address in exchange for Carbide 3D's crash course on CNC. They want to sell you one of their machines (which I have), but it's a general course. Those...

    Hello from USA

I am an old robotics guy, and can perform surgery if your expectations are low, really low. The AutoDoc moniker came about as I was an industrial automation guy who used to carry my tools in an old doctor's bag.
