Rear of bandsaw blades aren't meant to be square to the table?

See the images below. I should add that the blade is bang on square left/right of the blade to the table, just not front to back. Having just spent nearly an hour trying to align my table to the blade I concluded the only way to do this was to add washers to the underneath of the table...

    Pocket screws

https://www.axminstertools.com/ujk-washer-head-screws-t20-4-x-50mm-coarse-thread-qty-100-501574 I've only got the Kreg ones, but when they run low I'd pick these up. The finer thread ones are shorter in length on Axminster if that matters.

    Makita drill/driver

It's worth getting to grips with these settings. I used to be one of those "leave it on max/drill" and get a feel for it but no more. For example, using a pocket hole jig is really hard in the likes of MDF/sheet goods unless you use your cluck/speed settings. Drill, then switch down to...

Pushfit soil pipe as dust extraction

This video just came into my feed. Worth a watch.

YouTube again - some people never learn

This one was interesting. I watched this the other day of him walking through what he would do differently, yet he never mentioned actually having the guard on across the blade. He didn't need the full width of the cutters for his rather small piece - I'm sure a commenter called him out on this...

CNC'd MFT top, Parf guide or Trend jig?

They sell an optional hand tool for this, but it's not worth it if you have a router and chamfer bit. Just use this instead. The tool doesn't come with the kit.

CNC'd MFT top, Parf guide or Trend jig?

I'm happy with my Parf M2 purchase on the whole, though I agree it's rather expensive for what it is. My two complaints or warnings with it are: 1) The instructions are overly complex. You could sum the process up in a single page yet it's made quite complex looking. Take your time and mark...

    Concrete wall in garage

This is spot on. It's cheaper than renting a SDS tool and the exact one I have. I've barely used it but each time you do it's amazingly effective. Had to put up a curtain rail the other day and my Dewalt corded drill would only get halfway through before getting stuck. This Titan was like a hot...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

A small table for my daughter. She is 18 months old and we've recently discovered she loves tables, just the act of putting something down and picking it up. When we moved into our house a few months back she used a cardbox box and was distraught when we removed it. This is to replace that...

    Bluetooth speaker

I got a couple of these a few months back. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01HTH3C8S Small and cheap but pretty shocking how good the sound is really. Took a punt on it over the Sony or other models and can't complain. It's going through the wars now, dust, bashed around and doing fine...

    Titan bandsaw

Guess it depends on the model. It does nothing either way, maybe fixed in the more recent ones? Can't say. It's fine otherwise once I adapted the fence. See here: Bandsaw drift Be interesting to know if your fence is the same or if they've fixed that too. Been using it the last few days for...

    Titan bandsaw

My quick release lever does/did nothing. I've had the saw for a couple of years now. I put a new blade back in recently 62"/1575mm and it was fine, much better than the stock blade. I can't add much else other than check the blade is the same size?

how to build a shooting board and what plane to use?

I went down this rabbit hole a few years back. Ended up making a few and since then this has been my go to. Simple to make, easy to adapt and always accurate each time. My use for mitres is limited so I use the clamp/combination square method in the video. I haven't the time or need for...

Workbench Build - Split Top Roubo (Sort Of)!

Lovely bench. I was going down the split top route until 2 nights ago. The new Schwarz book on benches changed my mind though. He claims the split top is harder to build, requires hardware and as both can independently move can cause issues anyway. Regarding the apron concept, you don't want...

Free Chris Schwarz book on benches

Thanks for the heads up on this, finished it yesterday after a few days reading. A good book, you've (Chris also) saved me quite a bit of money and effort. I've switched my design to be the classic bench in this book, instead of the Benchcrafted split top version. I read his other book a...

    This price is OTT

I've got the Cen Tech adapters and will be buying their hose plus a few more adapters soon. They're great. However I can kinda see the price of the Festool hose in way. While I've not used one yet, my only complaint of my TS55/router etc.. is that sometimes my hose snags on my MFT/track. The...

    Which Router Bit

I'm metric for anything, tape measure, drill bits you name it. Except router bits. Don't try to fight it. Confusingly 1/4" or 1/2" are what I buy as another poster said, they tend to be easier/more common yet the actual diameters I use are all metric. In other words, my last purchase was a...

Is there such thing as an Auto extractor power switch that is attached to a festool extractor?

Only had these two days, used them a bit so far they're fine. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07SRXZ5DZ Not auto start, but I'm up one end of the workshop and I just flick on/off when needed on the remote, rather than walk over and press the extractor on/off. The auto start options...

    ROS - 180+ grit discs?

From their site (USA) "Granat is our most long-lasting and highest performing abrasive and is well suited for nearly all applications, including bare wood, paints, most modern paint systems, VOC clear coats, plastic materials, solid surface materials, acrylics, and composites. Hardened Aluminum...

    ROS - 180+ grit discs?

I've found some on Amazon now - Rubin 2 in 220 - my searching failed before. I guess I've been following the instructions too closely - the manual and their website says Rubin 2. Yet Festool USA state Granat is fine too. Bit confusing but seems to match up with what I've found since posting.
