    Thinnest stock for Domino?

Kev, you don't need a domiplate at all. I don't have one and its not caused me any issues at all. Feel free to make dominos but to my mind its really not worth the faff and the time when they are like 6p each. You need to get the material, route it, cut them all to length. I'm in the middle of 2...

    Mitre saw station

A mitre saw bring boxed in really needs at least a 100mm if not a 150mm proper extractor evacuating the space behind the saw to have any chance of curing the problem. Most I see just box it in and use a shop vac which is next to useless. One of the few tools that could do with hplv on the main...

Starrett combi square good price Amazon

I missed out last time but it was on my xmas list and someone else got it for me 😂 Tempted to get a second as it gets a fair bit of use when you just don't need the big one.

    Mitre saw station

Build it all and you can change it later. It shouldn't be too hard. There are several cases of people that have made one of those 8x4 modilbe benches where the mitre saw just hinges down when not needed to clear the whole bench away. For me the key is going to be not having to move it to do...

No table saw, am I missing out?

As someone with a Sip 01446 which has the motor/blade suspended from the table, I'd LOOOOVE a cabinet mounted saw. Adjusting this is a pain in the backside. If Nick want's to sponsor me one I can show that I have 7 followers on youtube. 😂

    Thinnest stock for Domino?

Looks like it should work fine Roy and be good for lots of repetitive cuts, just surprised you have to go to those lengths to get it working right for you. A pencil mark and your spacer should really be all that's needed.

    Thinnest stock for Domino?

I'm intrigued that you're having an issue. Given that you can make wider slots with the domino, I'm guessing the precision you are finding missing is the height between slots? Like this?

What is it you feel the domino can't do on the larger stock?

    Mitre saw station

Right now I have to move mine around to use it and its a pita. The plan is to make a bench the length of the wall that it will sit in. Not a mitre saw station so much as a bench with lots of storage under it, MFT on the top and a dropped hole 2/3 of the way down for the saw to sit in. Right...

    Wood Workers Workshop

Possibly a daft question Peter but would I be able to pop in and have a look at something like the Mast-R-Lift II before purchasing? I'm only up the road. I don't know if you've actually got something akin to a showroom for the shop or not?

    Track saws?

I know my brother got the newer macallister one shortly after Peters video on it and he has no end of trouble with it. He came to me and mentioned it so I gave him my old Titan and he said its working fine. One of those instances that can quickly put someone off a type of tool cimnply becase of...

    Thinnest stock for Domino?

I'd say the Domino holds one of the top spots in the "I really can't justify it" list for a lot of people... until they get one. Ah pain in the backside but hopefully remedied shortly. There have been delays on everything I've ordered in the last 12 months, but everything that turned up fine...

    Minor PC problem.

It does a little depend on what level you entered at. Many moons ago I'd have an upgrade every 12 to 18 months. Over the last 20 years that cadence has dropped drastically and this 6700k is still going strong with no sign of letting up 6 years on. While the older i3's were a cheap option and...

    Thinnest stock for Domino?

In a world where you can justify both then yeah I guess you'd use the Zeta over the Domino in those instances, especially as the fixings that are hidden will be perfectly suitable in most cases so there are no visible holes to cover and also not needing clamps or screws to pull things tight.

    Thinnest stock for Domino?

Ha. Enjoy. I seemed to get a little flack for buying one because I'm not using it to generate my fortune and I should just take longer to do things and be happy with it even if my time is valuable to me. I did manage to get mine with a free systainer of all the sizes of domino and bits, not...

    Thinnest stock for Domino?

Same as Robin, you do have to be aware that if you use too much glue it can seep between plys or just blow the mdf apart if you are whacking it home. The 4mm domino can also only plunge 10mm I think. It might be less.
