Used power tools, how big a discount on new will you accept?

I'd never heard of them so thanks for that. I don't pay attention to the RRP on anything, why bother when so much is sold for less at different retailers?

    Worktops

Not hot pens, no though I'm sure it's happened absentmindedly. Always a silicone trivet somewhere to hand. Oak doesn't like iron though so it has caused lots of people issues because they didn't know that when fitting with non stainless screws, or leaving cast iron or steel things on it. I gave...

    Worktops

Sounds fine, though I used osmo 3032 on my oak tops. No idea how walnut copes with hot pans and stuff though.

    Road Tax rates

There are no emissions at all from an electric car unless it's a hydrogen car, and the energy generated at a power station (assuming you aren't paying for a green tariff) is still a lot more efficiently produced than that of a petrol or even diesel engine. Emissions are localised away from town...

Used power tools, how big a discount on new will you accept?

I've been keeping an eye out for a Domino and as they seem to be rare as rocking horse teeth new at the moment, I was looking at used options. Now, every auction varies in content and final sale price, however, one auction ended today that made me question how far people are willing to go...

    Road Tax rates

Naturally. Perhaps a window tax :p

    Road Tax rates

The stop start will help but if I recall road tax is based on emissions. Until such time as no cars emit anything at which point there will, of course be no road tax. :ROFLMAO:

    Rail Squares

 Daft that you're buying a whole saw for £60 and using a £120 square or £200 rail. Can I ask which cheap saw it was you used that gave such awful results?

    Table Saw Advice.

That's also the one (oneof the ones!) that Badger Workshop bought, is it not?

    Track saw splinter strip

If anyone knows its @petermillard but he also did a series of videos using it so I think it did work. I just use the Evolution 2800 pair, not as ideal as one rail but less than half the price if I recall. I did suggest to them to make a single 2800 rail.

    For a Skoda though? :ROFLMAO:

I long for the days where my Superb doesn't run me £400+ a year.

DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

I can very well imagine use of a paperclip for the fuse wire too!

DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

I've not bought one yet. It would at most be able to be 80mm deep once insulation and chipboard are down. I'm sure most don't have them in the floor and cope just fine.

    Rail Squares

Much of that is covered in my use of etc etc. They are clearly better tools and I only recently got a ts55 myself. But, like the car analogue, it still gets you from a to b, which is actually the point of the car. The phantom will get you there in style and comfort and will be a better ride, but...

    Rail Squares

Ahh OK, Peters video from 3 months ago showed it not fitting so it's possible they changed something to make it work. He did say he'd sent a section of evolution rail to BDUK to play with. I don't understand? You can work with a less refined tool but still need square cuts.

    Track saw splinter strip

Are you using the Parkside blade? I have a Freud in my titan and it gives great results.

    Rail Squares

The cheaper saw does the same job as the more expensive saw, it just doesn't have the refinement of the more expensive saw. No soft start, fiddly depth stop, riving knife, duat collection, etc etc. A squares, a square. There are no cheap options outside of making one as Peter did in his video...

DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

Well, the electrician is indeed coming on Monday to do the bulk of the work. While he's there we can discuss 16a socket options. I'd like one in the floor in the hopes of one day putting a saw there but I'm not 100% sure on where it would go, nor if I can even get a 16a socket into a floor box...

    Rail Squares

They only just had a 20% off weeked too, on everything except rail squares mind.
