Well that's a second simba superking matress in the house for just under £250, ta very much. interestingly the invoice I got from FFX last week for the hose was for the full price which would suggest ebay foot the bill for that one. Maybe its different each time. Looking at it now its still...

    Fitting electric cooker query

It isn't this one, but its as close as I can find from their current lineup. https://www.neff-home.com/uk/productlist/hobs/induction-hobs/T59FT50X0 Magnetic knob that you use to set which area to adjust. It just pops off and lives on the cooker hood when not in use. No need to remove it at all...

Buying solid countertops for raw material

Ahh nice! Yeah there are plenty of people out there that don't want to do it, but if people will pay you good money for something you can batch out for 2 or 3 days a month its worth thinking about.

Buying solid countertops for raw material

Absolutely, you just probably want to avoid finger joints where staves and staves are joined being on the visible faces. And as for the prices, people buy them. You can really up your price further with things like laser engraved names or whatever too. There are real woodworkers reading this...

Buying solid countertops for raw material

I did hear something a while ago suggesting that mineral oil only became recommended as manufacturers wanted to save money and get people to oil their own boards with something they all had at home many years ago. That was on the woodtalk podast but it might have been a modern episode or a 10...

DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

I'd love to take the credit but it's just a clone of one done by a chap called Drew Fisher. You can buy plans but I just looked at his and worked it out which I'm sure most would also do. Though he does sell lots of plans for those that just want a cutlist. Drawer will be sorted on Monday as...

Buying solid countertops for raw material

Oh yours is one of these modern houses then :p I only meant that with the polyx being a sort of film it might need more regular attention than something else (not that I can say what). Though saing that the only thing that's upset my 3032 covered worktops has been one particular bottle of oven...

Buying solid countertops for raw material

Nice! Did you use the polyx to finish it? I'd have thought that would get beaten up quite badly from knives, no?

    Fitting electric cooker query

We prep a bit ahead often. Spuds will be peeled and sitting in water for maybe an hour before we cook as an example. Much of the veg leaps out of the freezer. Typically the veg is the fastest thing to cook anyway, so once the oven, pan or grill is going its easy enough to get the water boiled...

    Fitting electric cooker query

And a mere £1150 as a starting price! I don't evne use soda stream bottles in my soda stream as it's so expensive!

    Fitting electric cooker query

Just have to remember to use 2 rings on different sides. I use boost on from time to time to get 2 pots of water up to temp for veg or whatever.

New Workshop - Roof Now On

Oh yeah you absolutely call in the mates rates, favours and anything else you can! The reason I ask is that for man the cost is a limiting factor and they see Mike for example say that his massive workshop cost only £3k and think "oh thats ok," but mine cost double that despite not paying for...

Routing for beginners (and routing tables)

My Ender 3 Pro came from banggood but it was a UK warehouse. Only £195 I think in the end. Legally you absolutely must declare the imported items and pay up the extra tax which everyone absolutely does all the time. It's rare for me to have something come from china and it get charges applied...

New Workshop - Roof Now On

    Good News Re Worktop Express

Used them for my oak tops in the kitchen, then offcuts in 2 bathrooms. Nice stuff. It taught me quickly that 4m 40mm thick oak worktops are indeed heavy. Would go back to them in a heartbeat. Them and DIYkitchens.
