Advice needed - making shaker kitchen cabinets

I made myself a cabinet (well 2 secured together to from an L really) for my utility just a week or so ago. I have a domino but its far from a requirement. I just used some hardwood ply that has the thinnest of looks-like-sapele-but-probably-isn't veneers and edge banded the edges with iron on...

Barn shed design - opinions sought - madness! Talk me out of it!

I wouldn't other with the blocks and instead just use a cladding like Hardiplank. Will look better too and won't sponge the water up. Lots of headroom is nice. My ties are 2.5m above the floor and there's a good 800mm above that to the actual underside of the ridge beam. With the lights I put...

Dust extractor for garage size man cave

Ha. I havn't even started thinking about it yet! Been busy making some cabinets and stuff for the utility room. Its on the list. I still need to decide how I split usage of the HVLP and the LVHP. I'm thinking it would be best to try and organise things so that one side of the shop is things...

The Build Begins (Workshop in Garage)

Looking great with the two together Bill. When I've finished making this utility room pair of cabinets I really need to get a table of some kind done. Its horrible having to route some things knowing that a table would make life easier.

So you deleted the shill thread Mike. Care to explain?

I'm talking vile as in an entire section titled "watch people die". Should they too free to express themselves? A site owner can make whatever rules they like and that can include needing to see a scan of a passport if they so wished. It won't happen becase its an invasion of privacy and it...

So you deleted the shill thread Mike. Care to explain?

Nope. The uk govt wanted (wants) to put a block on VPNs and faced a backlash, there is no way the internet as a whole can do anything like you are saying. Individual sites can do more and the likes of Reddit allowing stuff of a vile nature to be posted there becase "freedom of speech" has been...

So you deleted the shill thread Mike. Care to explain?

oh I don't know about that I was pleased to get mine on Xmas day as a gift, though it had been on my list at that price for a few months. These days it gets tossed around quite freely to describe anyone who likes something a bit too much.

Are standards necessary / useful in the UK?

But we no longer live in 1950s britain (much to chagrin of some). Companies in the last 70 years have proven in all markets that if they are free to regulate themselves, be it financial institutions, house building, car manufacture etc, they will cut corners and even cheat the regulations that...

Skodas like audis and seats are mostly vw parts, just with a less galling price tag. Can't complain at all about my 280 Superb.

Are standards necessary / useful in the UK?

Paging @XH558 as I'm fairly sure that this is a myth. Zero tolerance however is stupid, but speedos (I think) have to over estimate your speed from the factory, not under.

Are standards necessary / useful in the UK?

Pilots have to spend hundreds of hours to fly for airlines in the specific plane they need to fly. Its nothing like passing a driving test where once complete (possible to pass with literally no prior real experience) you can drive everything from a fiat 500 to a ferrari f50.

Are standards necessary / useful in the UK?

Laws are made so that if someone is caught doing it then they can be prosecuted. The law doesn't stop me breaking the law, it holds me accountable if I'm caught. Otherwise people can do things that we know they shouldn't be doing, and when caught there is no recourse. There are multiple cases...

Are standards necessary / useful in the UK?

Self regulation doesn't work because Money. This has been proven over and over and over again. Tests which both Boing and the FAA have been found to have bent the rules on to get it through.

    Tier 4

Govt doesn't react as fast as most science says it should, and some people are saying all these govts are just power grabbing? Those scientists really are trying to take over the world then.
