    1st fix nail gun

I bought the dewalt battery one for my build and it was absolutely faultless. Didn't even use one of the two batteries. Sold it on after I was done for maybe £120 less than I paid for it? Only to get rid quick tbh and that was still cheaper than hiring one for the amount of time I ended up...

    Lockdown Workshop Build

In the field opposte me there had sat little more than a shed for decades. Once the land was sold off, a huge great thing (the type you lose diggers in) was erected. Though I think for farm buildings rules are different 😂

    Lockdown Workshop Build

No idea but since its an insurance company probably. My one time dealing with a claim was when my ex and I were broken into and I had 4k of camera gear nicked, Aviva just old me to go to the WEX photographic site, put everything I lost in a basket and send them a screen grab! Personally I...

    Aluminium sash clamps

Those clamps are OK. But you will probably get frustrated with them binding because of the castings and need to do what Paul sellers suggests. I've done half of mine but not put any pine inside them yet, nor have I bought anything better to replace them. How valuable is your time in the...

    Lockdown Workshop Build

Make a thread! Getting planning isn't that hard nor that expensive. I didn't mostly because it was a little unexpected and I didn't really need to. Had covid not hit I'd have been at work so wouldn't have been able to dedicate the time to build it, and since I had the time, you couldn't get...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Got to be a makers mark. A signature of a great craftsmans work. That's what I tell people.

    Lockdown Workshop Build

You also have to consider the height. If you want to go over 2.5m in height you have to be more than 2m from the boundary. I've got 2.5m from my floor to the underside of my rafter ties only because I had the space to build it 2m from the boundary. I could have got PP of course. Now my sheet...

3m saw guide rail. How straight is straight?

get on to them and they'll probably replace it. As above thouugh, try drawing a line and seeing if the cut matches the line. If not, try running the saw through again. Though I don't think it's intend for joining two faces as you are, just for cutting long sheets that are then going to be used...

    Airless paint sprayers

From what I gather the decorators on some of these new builds have to make the finish deliberately worse just so that it can be touched upwwith a roller. Some developers just refuse to let them spray to finish, so they have to spray the whole room in 4 minutes and then roll a 12" roller over...

    Airless paint sprayers

On the basis that a lot of pros are using sprayers to do whole homes you have to assume its cheaper otherwise they'd be rolling it. Now thats probably easier when your ceiling and walls are all the same pot of paint. For a room with one feature wall you'd do that first and then mask it off...

I don't think they would believe it nowadays?

A king sized mars bar used to be 100g of sugary goodness. I'd go t'shop and buy one and a can of full fat coke with a quid and get change. They stopped making them some years ago due to the obesity crisis engulfing the west. Well its 15 years on and i'm still cat funt so bring the buggers back...

DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

Well when you hear the commentary talk about VAR being at Stockley Park, I'm the floor below them! I'll investigate more on doing edge banding. Once I'd got my method sorted for that utility cabinet it was fine.It looked a bit ropey on the panels I'd done like trying to work it out though!

DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

@Chippysu ahh thanks for that. Did you say you were trying to line one side of the edge banding up? The very little I've done (maybe 12m) I just made sure it overlapped on all 4 sides so shrinkage wasn't a problem. I did then try a multitude of ways of trimming it back and in the end settled on...

I don't think they would believe it nowadays?

As I said, you're free to say whatever you like. It's not freedom from consequence. Not actually sure if you're serious. Please tell me you haven't also asked why there isn't white history month or straight pride parades.

Varnished kitchen worktop in lousy condition - which sander please?

I'd pick a makita anything over a metabo anything I think. Makita is a solid brand.

DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

They literally just want it left as edge exposed birch ply. Makes life easier for me at least! I'd have no idea what to do otherwise as I've only recently used my first bit of edge banding let alone trying to steam bend something. As far as using Sketchup or Fusion, I think a lot of pros don't...
