No table saw, am I missing out?

Seen several actual fingers (including inventor) approaching slowly like the slow hotdogs and it does exactly the same thing. Anyone willingly throwing their hand at a blade at speed even with sawstop is certifiable.

No table saw, am I missing out?

I have seen a video with a high speed hotdog rather than one just slowly nudged forward. Still phenomenally impressive EDIT: CURSE YOU DOUG! 😂 I at least found the right in point haha. Though later in the video he shows just why you want to be wearing your specs. Carbide teeth came off the...

    Howdens Joinery prices?

Just seeing someone saying there's a 90% discount on something makes me not want to deal with them.

No table saw, am I missing out?

Ha, the self test is just to check that its correctly armed and ready to pop. Of course it can't it works on conductivity. If you know you are cutting something conductive (rare enough) then you disable it. As soon as the machine turns off it re enables the arming mechanism. I'm sure I saw a...

    Howdens Joinery prices?

I have to say the service and price I got from DIY kitchens years ago was fantastic. And the units were sprayed a colour we chose to boot. All pre assembled solid units /not a cam in sight) and given the amount of units and almost all of them being full of soft close blum drawers the price was...

    cad design for workshop

I didn't go with cls for mine BTW, just regular 100x50 treated. Most of it was c24 iirc. Just picked and delivered by kellaway.

No table saw, am I missing out?

You can disable it in case you are cutting wood that's dripping or say some aluminium. If I recall correctly the system self tests every time it's started.

    Newbie query, what components required

Not even sure a pillar drill is needed. A drill guide should suffice. Not like the hole has to be massive. A 8mm dowel would be more than enough for this job.

No table saw, am I missing out?

Eugh. If I was spending on a sawstop I'd want one of the proper ones, not one of those. In the US $2500 gets you a proper cast iron top saw with a decent fence. I'm sure the Festool product is a good one as I'm not sure they make many lemons. But until they release an actual cabinet saw in the...

Shed: to sheath or not to sheath, that is the question (among others)

18mm ply (depending on type) will be fine 90% of the time for the floor, just in case you decided to put a 200kg tool in there like a cast iron table saw which feet might not land on a joist. If it's general storage 18mm will be fine. The gap between sheets would have been for expansion, maybe...

    Anybody used one of these?

You could make your own, but the question would always be did you save much in time compared to just buying the one(s) you need. Most of my screws used are 4x something, so I'd only bother buying one for that size most likely.

No table saw, am I missing out?

If you've not felt the NEED for one then you probably aren't missing out. The sawstops are very nice, but expensive compared to others in the same class that don't protect your fingers when not using a guard. Also not available over here unless imported by yourself IIRC I use a tablesaw and a...

    cad design for workshop

both sketchup and fusion 360 can do what you want for free. Fusion is a far more powerful product and when a model is built correctly it can be altered by changing a parameter or two. What kind of shed are we talking about here? a shed shed or a SHEEEEEED? No realy need for a cad package, but...

Shed: to sheath or not to sheath, that is the question (among others)

Ah, well you can try cracking a corner with a mallet. It only needs to move a tiny bit. But really wouldn't worry about it. If you are going to place very dense things in there with small footprints, maybe consider 24mm flooring? Ah now i see about your 22mm, certainly no need to put osb on...

Getting MFT top made. 96mm vs 100mm & Material

Can't think of a reason to use 100mm over 96 and 96 is so ubiquitous that it's just got to be simpler going the same route? Though apart from a few accessories you can use, 100mm is fine too. As for the above, no reason you can't do the exact same thing with a 96mm spacing. Sure you need to do...

    Newbie query, what components required

I'm not sure any hardware is needed at all is it? 6 "shelves" with a hole in one end glued and if you like screwed to a dowel with a spacer between them while drying to keep them in place.

    Shed Insulation question.....

My first thoughts were, no way are you compressing the boards. As others already stated, build up your studs and put the boards in. The boards are most often cut with a hand saw but frankly it was much easier and faster for me to do my workshop with a cheap Evolution table saw. This stuff is...

Shed: to sheath or not to sheath, that is the question (among others)

The 1cm will be fine, you'll just have to work with it for the boarding. No need for it to be perfect. Ask any of the house builders. consider that at 1cm of difference with the diagonals, you are 10mm out over am expected 4272mm distance. If you feel that worried unscrew it and bang the ends...
