    Sip 01446/01332 owners, help please

I tried posting it in my old thread but maybe nobody looked because its an old thread. Anyway. Long story short. I have an older 01446, they revised some parts internally and now things don't line up like they should. If you have one that's not 10 years old, can you take this pic for me and...

Went and had a look at the new workshop yesterday.

    That's bleedin' cheating!

Which bench dog / MFT system?

I have in my collection a holey bench, benchdogs rail square, benchdogs parallel guides, benchdogs quad dogs, benchdogs fencedogs/fence+the wee little support bit for under the rail and more recently a pair of the long rail dogs that are supposed to go into the rail and then into the holes...

Sip 01446 12" Table saw details, repairs and review

Fellow 01446 (or even 01332) owners. Would you mind sending me some pics of the inside of your units please. The motor mount on mine has just been replaced but it seems they did a version revision between mind being made and now, which means I almost certainly need another new part to make it...

DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

Been beavering away on jobs around the house adn farm for the last few weeks, but I can finally say that drainage for the guttering is in place which is nice. I also took delivery of my new filter for the extractor. I'll get some words written up for it once I'm sorted as I think I can get away...

    Workshop Dust extraction

Hi Alan, what kind of help are you after as it sounds like you've got a machine and plan ahead already?

How to use push sticks to cut wood safely on a table saw.

Have a look at Badger workshop, he showed how to build a crosscut sled and still keep the guard on. Not at all complicated.

Best Table Saw i have ever had!

To be fair, the thread on here at the moment about fixing up an AGS is exactly why some people don't want to get an old machine. It's one thing fettling any new machine to get it set up, it's quite another trying to determine what type of thread is required for an old part that there is little...

Best Table Saw i have ever had!

No soft start? That seems a bit odd.

    Guns,guns, and more Guns

Owning a bottle of vodka doesn't give me an opportunity to shoot up a school. Sure, alcohol does kill more people, like cigarettes kill more people. I'd not really be all that bothered if both were outright banned but the reality is we know prohibition doesn't work on boose and ****. Making it...

    Router for DIY table

I use a £60 refurbished Erbauer ER2100 to get me started with a table. Powerful and soft start and variable speed. I'll sort something out for adjusting height at some point, though the adjuster on it works well, just have to get under the table. I'll probably just buy a nice router/lift and...

    Fusion 360 - interesting developments

You can reactivate the free year for as long as you like. I had the same issue about 2 weeks ago. They don't make it abundantly obvious though. Edit: I see I am late with that particular pearl of wisdom.

Best sheet material for painted cabinets

For kitchen cabs I would use birch ply and mrmdf for the doors. For normal built in furniture I'd be happy with mrmdf. Kitchen stuff gets more abuse I think. I think MFC is also popular even with bespoke stuff? Should add of course that I've not actually built a kitchen cab. The closest I've...

    Should you speak the truth?

Where does one draw the line? Wearing a mask below the nose is minor. Organising a house party or going on holiday is quite another.

    Guns,guns, and more Guns

I know people that have driven well drunk and not killed anyone. Doesn't mean it should be the status quo.

    Guns,guns, and more Guns

Just stop letting police officers get away with shooting people for no good reason. Also maybe teach them which one is the flippin taser if the latest one is anything to go by. You'll never take their guns. But sensible steps should be taken.

    Sedgwick or axminster?

Makes sense. Do you have a slider option yet? Or one you know fits easily enough?
  19. DBT85

    Sedgwick or axminster?

Given how few saws offer it over here might a guard not be an idea? Especially considering your saw is already a grand less than that axi.

    Should you speak the truth?

I know that feeling. I wanted to get booked in for the 12th but every slot went in about 20 minutes! Already got my next one booked in already just in case. Looking forward to a nice short neat haircut again and a neatly trimmed beard. I currently sport the "through a hedge backwards" effect.
