    Cyclone Dust Collection

Nice to see someone else using the "Its home is where it lands" method of shop organisation just like me @Essex Barn Workshop 😂

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Thanks all. I'm very pleased with the result. This week I'll write myself up a little report on what I learned throughout the design, build and install, what I'd do differently etc. I have already ordered myself a second 12v driver as constantly changing between bits was a pain and the 18v I...

    Cyclone Dust Collection

They are all much the same, the above is better than some because the snail wraps around and brings the airflow down under the incoming air rather that directly into it. Even one of those will work wonders for collecing just and saving your filters and stuff. There is a consideration to be made...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Finally finished this one on Friday. My first built in unit. Why start small  The same friends that asked me to make the loft bed wanted this to finish their "phase 1" of moving into the new house. Birch ply, 3m wide, 2.5m tall, Blum push to open panel matched doors and drawers, Hafele...

    Sip 01446/01332 owners, help please

Well after my last message with SIP it seems I am on my own. Their own technical diagrams do not match the saws they are selling and it would appear that it may have been like it for some time. Since the drawing is wrong, yyou can;t order a part that you can't find on the drawing. So I'll have...

    Nespresso repair

Have a look. People will list it as broken because the water container leaks or something that clearly isn't your issue.

    Nespresso repair

We don't use that type of machine, but when the wifes £400 machine threw a fit I duly dismantled the whole thing, identified the issue and then bought a broken machine on ebay (knowing why that one was broken of course) for £60 and used it as a parts mule. Very handy sicne my mother in law has...

Film 4 - reduction in picture quality

If the fire was that bad they were lucky to be running at all. It's unlikely that they have changed what format the files are stored in on their servers/archives, but with kit being knocked out it may well be that they are now having to run 10 channels through kit in racks that used to do 5...

Which bench dog / MFT system?

The odd thing is I've seen this mentioned and I saw Peters video about his fix, but mines never come off. It does always want to hang in exactly the wrong place though, or snag on the end of the work, or the rail, or the power cable will catch on the parallel guide screws 😂

Dust extractor... Festool, Makita or other?

That won't be of any use at all when using a tracksaw or sander or any other small tool though?

Which bench dog / MFT system?

I went with the festool after using my titan a lot just because I knew I was going to get other festool kit which I now duly have. Once you use them for awhile you forget what yhe old one was like until you use it again. My titan didn't have soft start so she was a little violent on startup 😂

    Filtration revisited

Glad to be of some use (y) Check with them, for reasons unknown they don't include a little tick next to wood dust for those UXNANO filters. Do let me know what they say, they seemed more than happy to help me when I questioned one of their spec sheets. This wil do me for now as its really only...

    Filtration revisited

Oh the filter itself is fine I'm sure. It just bugs me that a supposed to be a safety thing never seems to have any actual data sheets to prove it, or proper diagrams with internal diameters, etc. It was all done via email with a chap called Dan. He was very helpful. This is the chart of filter...

    Filtration revisited

I know exactlywhere you can get the size cartridge filter you want. Just give me an hour to pit the kid to bed. Edit: Is see you have already spoken to DJN. They sorted me out a CS495 (487mm internal diameter for the cuff) 600mm tall for £155 posted. Could have had it any size I wanted and...

Which bench dog / MFT system?

It's not something I noticed once you are referencing off of a cut edge and I think I'm quite picky. If you reference from the factory edge then you will likely have issues as its often not that clean and not always entirely straight. if I get a moment I'll have a quick test today but the list...

Dust extractor... Festool, Makita or other?

I was using a 2kw record power and with a job paying for it, and needing to have extraction on site that just worked, I opted for the CTM Midi during one of the 20% off ebay sales where FFX was included (I did check, I still saved £60 quid over the usual price I could find anywhere). Really...

    Sip 01446/01332 owners, help please

Oh I'm sure they are just rebadged, the manual is identical and the saws appear to be too! Anyone else with a handy pic?

    Is this an eBay scam?

Can't even return the money to a card anyway can you? You need bank details or an email address to send money to. But I'd do nothing until eBay asks you to refund and then I'd do it via paypal if thats what they paid with.

Festool Domino 500 stopped working :(

At least it'll come back looking good as new. Did you look at the brushes in the end? No, they come with a 3 year parts and labour warranty as well as sending you a new tool for £100 should yours get nicked and you have a police number to quote them. The few bits I looked at didn't mention...

    Sip 01446/01332 owners, help please

More picture are always good chaps, thanks! Thanks Fidget i really appreciate your help. That helps identify at least one issue, that the manuals I can find for the 01332 do not match that layout! Can you confirm that with your own manual? Looking at your photos it appears that the worm gear...
