    Workshop Heaven Experiences

Anther satisfied customer here, WSH clearly look after their customer base and understand the basic principle of return business and also that resolving issues is part of the process, often a positive one if done right, something lost on a lot of retailers these days.

    Boiler change!!

One major lurking problem with ASHP's is fundamentally linked to the weather we are experiencing right now. According to the weather modelling from the Met Office, moving forward we are highly likely to experience a similar extreme heat wave every five years as opposed to the usual model of one...

    Festool parallel guides ?.

I have a full set myself, I don't use it much but the few times I have it is has paid for itself. Just be mindful of the limitations is all. They work up to 650mm in width whereas some of the alternatives go that little bit wider. Not usually a problem in my work but can be a show stopper for some.

    Festool parallel guides ?.

Remember that the parallel guides are supplied in two parts, the initial parallel guides themselves (FS-PA) and the extensions (FS-PA-VL) separately at £170 and £100 respectively.

    Made or Built

If components are sourced from another country of origin and used to build a finished product, technically that end product should be described as 'Assembled in the UK'. Built would infer something beyond simply bringing those parts together. One thing that gets missed in the UK badge on...

    Introducing WorkshopBuddy

Just saw this, appreciate the work involved and the need for revenue however I think the business model in acquiring that revenue is (in my opinion) possibly misplaced and even short term. It's a useful app and incredibly simple in presentation however I can see many people not being prepared to...

Anyone in the Bridgend area need a BIG saw for free!!!

Not mine but noticed it on FB marketplace; https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/331395412440207/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks Worth a look I suspect. Bit of a beast so not going to find a home in most places but probably far too good to...

    Workshop Insurance & Security

As raised in the forum announcement and help section, some members have suggested a dedicated section on workshop insurance & security as a dedicated place to discuss and share key information between users of this forum. The original suggestion was a dedicated forum area but maybe a sticky...

Ever wonder how they did computing before computers?

I'd argue it was the axle that was the game changer. As you point out, they already had the wheel naturally.

Ever wonder how they did computing before computers?

Have you seen Apollo 11 yet by Todd Douglas Miller? Utterly outstanding film and just incredible use of actual footage.

Yet another shedshop Mike's way. Ish

Watching this one. Couple of notes from my own experience. I think the proposed initial budget is very tight and will be very surprised if you end up in that area at the end of the build. Secondly, check suppliers of Onduline products as availability is not great at the moment with Onduline...

    Bl**dy Mice

Look on the bright side, it's just mice. We live on a river bank and we've got rats the size of labradors.

    Wood working mask recommendation

Depends on what you are working with. Look for a stockist and check the range. Should be clear enough relative the materials you are using.

Any experience of wood splinter gone into your finger? - How did you get it out?

MDF is not something you want as a foreign body in your hand. I'd be getting that out sharpish rather than using plasters, baking soda and time. Pop into your local surgery if easier and preferred.
