Recommendations for a UK based CNC building company

Ooznest CNC's are very much hobby territory. Depending on the work envelope you are looking at rack and pinion for large format (i.e. 4x8) and ball-screws for medium to smaller working footprint. What are you going to be cutting and to what size?

    Wanted Fine Woodworking Magazines

If you sign up to the free trial you can access (as far as I know) the back issues going back to 238/9. Use it to have a sift through and possibly keep the service if it works.

    Dewalt parallel bar clamps

Thanks for that, always useful to know good sources of clamps. I noticed Jorgensen have started selling their one handed clamps through B&Q these days, we may start to see some of the beefier variants start to come through.

    Dewalt parallel bar clamps

That makes sense and I know what you mean now, no these are just a straight handle with no pivot point.

    Dewalt parallel bar clamps

Not sure what you mean by pivot, if you mean the soft grip handles that you use to turn the pressure up then yes but I suspect all parallel bar clamps work that way. It's possible I'm being dumb here in answering your question.... The metal is steel and it's quite heavy gauge. I can imagine a...

    Dewalt parallel bar clamps

Picked up a few of these in the last week or so; https://www.dewalt.co.uk/products/dwht83831-1--600mm-24-parallel-bar-clamp Despite the short time I have used them, they are just superb, I have a fair few Bessey bar K clamps and have to say these come across as better built versions. The heads...

    Best budget 1/2" router bits

CMT is a good brand in terms of router bits. You can often find good deals on the Internet if you look for them.

    Peter Sefton Long Courses

I've completed one of Peters short courses, it was a three (possibly four) day course last year. Nicely placed workshop on the outskirts of Upton-upon Severn, lots of natural light and well equipped. Peter is a superb instructor and I would do another course in a heartbeat.

    Axminster Customer Service

I bought a couple of MFT's early last year during the start of lockdown, there were numerous issues with delivery in that they kept getting damaged in multiple deliveries. I understand issues will happen with deliveries, it's how those issues that get dealt with that makes the difference in...

Planning Permission - any cautionary tales of woe and despondency?

Fair enough, I just assumed (possibly wrongly) that your reason for potentially buying the offered land would be to ensure you were relatively free of neighbours. Enjoy the house and the land....

Planning Permission - any cautionary tales of woe and despondency?

Land is being sold quite quickly these days within the UK. I'm quite rural and there has been quite a few fields and large acreage plots for sale that spurred no interest in the last ten to twenty years. All of them have sold in the last six months at the asking price with no haggling of price...

    NAIL GUN

yup, missed that requirement...... I must be honest I looked at cordless guns a while back and went the air route as there was too much disparity in quality at the models I was looking at at the time. Depends on usage really.

    Rutlands tools

The idea that the development of a country was historically a messy business literally, ethically and politically does not give licence to current and future countries to do the same. That is an absurd angle to take. It's also slightly irresponsible to suggest the only way to impact those...

    Groundworker looking for advice!

There are a lot of one man saw mill operators these days, especially with COVID causing and enabling a lot of career changes. Check your local FB marketplace and Gumtree as well.

    Heater

I've had several humidifiers in my workshop over the years including a Meaco which failed within within a relatively short time frame. I've been running a De'Longhi for the last two years and it has been faultless. It's attached to the wall and the out feed tube is just ran straight outside...

    What are these called?

This ^, soldering / tinning wires that are secured via screw terminals is not a good method.

    What are these called?

They are just wire ferrules and I suspect you may have a hard time buying them in small quantities. They are generally installed by manufacturers, factory side.
