It sounds as if the weld is not quite lined up right. This is a common fault with bandsaw blades. There is nothing you can do to "tune" this out. Either ignore it or ring them and send it back for re-weld/replacement. Paddy

The above is spot on. Once you have a face and an edge you no longer need the square for reference just work to gauge lines from your good sides. In most applications it doesn't really matter if the other two sides are slightly off as all referencing for joints etc should be done from the face...

What's the point of the low angle on a low angled jointer? I do use a low angled block plane for end grain but for jointing surely it would just encourage tear out. Not trying to knock your beautiful looking plane, just wondering. Paddy
