‘Our MDF furniture brought toxic fumes into our home’

Interesting. I used cetirazine as I found it more effective, but that was limiting myself to the recommended dosage. I have accidentally overdosed on cetirazine, and the consequences were like a really bad hangover, not keen to repeat that!

    Oak door idiocy

Get a bit of tubing with Interior d diameter just larger than the screws, file teeth into the end, and use this to bore a hole around the snapped screw. Then, remove he plug created complete with screw. Rebore to a convenient size and plug.

Yep, the kemo: https://www.conrad.nl/p/kemo-m103n-mast ... ac-1091973 I don't know the price of shipping yet, but if I get round to buying one and implementing it, I'll post here how it goes

    Shop vac auto-on switch...where from?

The Dutch unit linked earlier is still available, and looks very interesting, I'm minded to get a couple and try them out - €15 is pretty reasonable, and I like the idea of flying it inside my own choice of enclosure/socket so I can mount directly to a machine. No time delay though, so Kevs...

Trying to source UPVC type door lever set

Looks like a Union Monarch door, and a quick search reveals Hoppe do a suitable set in Silver, no black though. https://upvcspares4repairs.co.uk/hoppe- ... -gold.html

    Looks like block board

    Biscuit jointer.

I got a BJ600 a while back, and I've found it very satisfactory, especially as I got it second hand, and it appeared unused. I made a suplimentary fence for angled work, and try to reference we from the base plate when practical, but I've found it very accurate, once set up. Dust...

Best method of making accurate bevels.

If have thought the relatively small angle would be achievable with a shooting board and a plane with the iron skewed. You could use you bench and a piece of scrap as an improvised shooting board if the pieces are quite long.

    Tapping

If you already have threaded holes in the bar, drill clearance holes in the sheet and insert the screws from the other side. 2.5mm isn't much thickness to tap, but should be enough to countersink for a screw head. **this is what the posters above said already, obviously I was late to the...

Lidl Plunge Saw - Extra Track

Same here, I ordered multiple sets, was told no joining bars in stock, but every package of rails contains a joining bar and Allen key.

    Edge Clamps

I used cheap edge clamps, IIRC from screwfix, to do the edging in 3 kitchens. The trick is to make a batten with shallow holes in it, then clamp this to the worktop with a bit of rubber anti-slip under it. Then you can clamp down like buggery, and the clamps won't slip when you engage the...

Anyone used Klug Pocket Door kit?

I think I used this in my kitchen refit, I'll dig up a photo or two if I can.

Dakota Stack 'n' Lock Tool Box

The stated dimensions are larger than Festool sustainer (300 x 400mm) - so I doubt they are compatible with those, or the makita and metabo boxes which are designed to be compatible with systainers.

How to fill in a tapped hole for a smaller screw?

Whack the tab with a hammer so that the hole is oval. You won't have a nice thread, but it'll grip fine for two or three removals and refixing.

New workshop project about to start

I did the Base shown below with my dad and a friend, and it was hard, hard work, starting at sparrows fart and finishing after dark. The friend in question started emphatically that he never wanted to do any concreting again, ever. He is still a friend though! Just take a look at the bags of...

    Mahogany

Unless you serve it to a lab for examination and identification, you'll not get a conclusive ID. One musical instrument members site had a long standing policy of deleting "what wood is this" threads as it was so difficult to ID wood conclusively after out ceases being a tree, at least via a...

    Stabilising furniture

I recently secured a tall chest of drawers by screwing a piece of 2x2 to the wall, though the skirting board, then screwing through the base of the unit into the 2x2. Very solid fixing, no visible screws or homes to fill in the wall (couple of early filed holes in the skirting) and easily...
