    want a new tablesaw blade

Are those fancy freud combination blads available with (at least) a 1inch arbour? http://www.langtoninfo.co.uk/showitem.a ... 54&loc=GBP but 5/8..

    Lignum vitae

Back to the OP's troublesome balls....I think changing them so they are used every day, rather than never seen again, is the way forward. Surely re-use and recycling is one of the joys of woodworking, and of being 'handy' in general. Might be nice to keep a recognisable detail on the remade...

    startrite 12-S-1 bandsaw blade guides

flh, what model is yours? Not sure I like the idea of a guide made for each size of blade!

    startrite 12-S-1 bandsaw blade guides

Good suggestion, have done that and now I'm more confused than before. Not even sure what model my saw is! Anyway, it looks like the guides are interchangeable, right? Attached are a couple of pics. This is my first bandsaw, but with hindsight I think I was a bit dazzled by the S word when I...

    startrite 12-S-1 bandsaw blade guides

Thanks! Pete, that looks _nothing_ like mine! I'll have a close look when I get home and see what's going on, and maybe post a pic or two if I'm past the spam thing by now.

    startrite 12-S-1 bandsaw blade guides

Evening, My foray into woodworking machines continues with a venerable Startrite 12-S-1 off fleabay, but I think the blade guides look wrong - can anyone post a pic of their startrite guides please? My upper guide is blocks of iron tapering at the back, plus a bearing running on one side of...

How flat is your table saw?

bob, I guess you're right. Was tempted to look for a lump of old iron but just wanted to get something that works, rather than a project. Roy, I'm impressed! Personally the idea of filing 0.5mm out of the mitre slot fills me with trepidation - I mean, the whole point of a table saw is...

Cool idea! Have done most of those tops, would be lovely to see them floating under my coffee cup!

    Calling a SIP 01332 Owner!

You cut through the CI? Got any pics? I would like to make use of the fence for a router but was thinking I'd have to junk one of the tables to do it. Keeping the left table would make the most sense for my layout but I can't imagine ripping lefthanded. As I say, I might just get away with...

    Calling a SIP 01332 Owner!

Thanks for the fast response, that helps a lot, and yes, I meant the rails - doh! I think I'll put the whole thing up in situ and then see whether I need to take one table off or if I can just cut off the overhanging bit of rail - and then it's chop saw time. My garage is only 2.7m wide and...

    Calling a SIP 01332 Owner!

Old thread I know, but Digit, is it possible to use the cut-off end of the fence if you ever need to use the other extension? Obviously it'd be a pig to set up but just wondering, before I get the hacksaw out...

short fence rails for SIP 01332

Just bought an 01332, anticipating a roomier workshop later this year. Meanwhile it's stuck in a crowded garage, so I was wondering about not using the extensions for a while - can you can get short fence rails like you can for the Axy equivalent? Are any other brands swappable?

    Workshop Essentials 9/10

That was quick! I edited my post as soon as I'd posted it because indeed something could be scarce whether it's countable or uncountable, but it must be quantifiable or it is impossible to not have enough of it. There is no such thing as an insufficient quantity of a language - a natural...

    Workshop Essentials 9/10

Is the English language quantitative, such that 'paucity' can apply to it? I think I would prefer a qualitative term in that sentence ;)

How flat is your table saw?

Hi all, well after much lurking and homework I've just joined the ranks of SIP saw owners (01332). Got it secondhand, and just poking around it it seems in fairly good condition apart from two things. Firstly, the table is slightly bowed front to back, to the left of the blade, by about 0.4mm...

Yes, I meant zero clearance, sorry. I've used one in the past and found it very helpful esp when cutting sheet stuff.

Record TS200C Table Saw - Set up and Review - Long+Pictures

Hi, first post so be gentle! TS200c looks great, and these sliding table jobbies seem v popular, but what do you do for a ZCI? A ZC sled? Or just not an issue?
