Router Table Fences - Incra vs Jessem vs?

Yes I have the Incra system with an LS25 positioner and metric templates with a Mast R lift router plate. The important point is that Incra have their own very unique system for cutting dovetails and finger joints there are plenty of videos on youtube demonstrating it. It is worth watching them...

Router Table Fences - Incra vs Jessem vs?

As I have said to others considering the Incra system. If you want a router table to do joinery, dovetails, finger joints etc and repeat set ups then as long as you have the space (the equivalent of 3 router tables deep) the Incra is brilliant. It also does all the normal fence based stuff...

DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

I have still got several pairs of 550mm runners 10 years on. The problem is they are an unusual size so unless you design them in to a project you will still have them in 10 years as well.

    Does anyone else dislike routers?

You missed the biggest reason to dislike them, the noise! It is not just the lack of meaningful dust extraction but its ability to throw chippings in a 360 arc around the shop and at the same time pebble dash you from head to toe.

Withdrawn Axminster Craft AC250WBS Wetstone Sharpening Machine. Withdrawn

Yes it did and sold for a profit as Axminster put their prices up the day before the end of the auction.

    Axminster Deliveries

I agree with all but the last sentence. I have supported them with trade and comments on here. I also made a point of placing regular orders over the spring. Like it or not our beloved Axminster is in Amazon’s sights. I do not know if their new normal was COVID related or not. If it is not...

    Axminster Deliveries

The other change they have made is previously you could order something that was not in stock and it would follow for free when it arrived. Now if it is not in stock you cannot place an order until you remove items that are not in stock. Then you have to add it to another order later on.

    Axminster Deliveries

I have had next day deliveries from Axminster for the last 25 years using their standard delivery option. As long as I placed my order before 4pm the delivery turned up like clockwork. I did notice a while ago the "guaranteed next day" delivery option appeared but just smiled and thought what...

    Incra positioners

I have never encountered any flex in use the system is well engineered and very solid. If you are just looking at a fence to pass material along then I would not get the Incra. If on the other hand you wish to machine joints and dados etc then the Incra has a lot to offer and it works as a...

250mm Blade in 254mm Saw. OK?

The blade speed is actually slower. Each revolution is 785mm rather than 798mm. There will be the same number of revolutions per minute so the running blade length is less so a slower speed. But wholly academic as it makes no practical difference. As Marcos says the issue is the riving...

Workshop floor - how much weight can it take?

You need a structural engineer as it all ultimately depends upon the ground bearing strength of your ground and the permissible load on your concrete posts. As to joist centres I would usually aim to get them to work for the plywood flooring width or length and balance size with span and...

    Felder planer blades

I have the Tersa block but not through my "genius". When I went to place my order 15 years ago, the salesman said they had built a machine for a client who went bust before it was delivered. The only none standard item was they had specified a Tersa block, but they would give me a big discount...

    Felder planer blades

You could try Appleby Woodturnings. I get my Tersa blades from them but they do other planer blades and might have a Felder alternative.

Hammer K3 Slider - questions for owners

I have mine set the same and it is perfect for 95% of the time as the 0.5mm allows the material to just float along. It is only a problem when cutting veneered panels etc when the 0.5mm can be a problem for spelching (I do not have a scoring unit) but I just use a piece of 12mm pdf as a zero...

    Sedgwick MB planer dust extraction

I have the JET 1100 with 175mm ducting and 125mm final connection it removes 99%of the shavings from my 410mm thicknesser, so I would get 6". It is also great on the spindle. Be careful not to stand too close or you may get extracted yourself!
