    Parf guide 3 anyone

Having seen the Parfitt videos and the jigs being used in the flesh the logical answer to me is not to pay a load of money for the PARF jigs but just buy a CNC produced MFT top (loads of places will make them to your spec) - you get a "right first time" answer.

    Amazon versus Screwfix

Trend router cutters is an example I found - Trend Direct via ebay was cheaper than Trend Direct direct - about 12.5% - that's odd as they would be paying a % to ebay??

    Another mystery . . . .

Problem solved - it's to align things when changing blades on the planer/thicknesser.

    Another mystery . . . .

That's brilliant - thanks - the ALDI manual has all the stuff about planing and thicknessing but stops short of blade changing - I'll print a copy and keep that with my manual.

    Another mystery . . . .

The £15 at Screwfix is a bit better than the £25 at one of the other woodwork machine dealers for the same item . . .

    Another mystery . . . .

Bingo! - so why was there nothing in the manual?? (Possibly as Aldi doesn't sell the blades?) - looked at the maufacturer's website (walteronline.com) and found spare blades - Euro 5 for a pair ... great BUT their online shop says they don't deliver to the UK (presumably the EU nonsense with...

    Another mystery . . . .

Disposable blades (I'm in the process of obtaining a spare set) - what is odd is that the item isn't in the manual and that perhaps suggests it's not for the planer at all . . . .

    Another mystery . . . .

Can't see where it might fit on any machine . . . I'm guessing that the "axle" fits to something and the two arms just use their (modest) weight for some purpose? 🤔 . . . this is probably one of those things where I'll wake up in the middle of the night having remembered . . . but in the...

    Another mystery . . . .

Anyone any idea what this might be - the "axle" is about 14cm long - the two arms swivel independently It was in the box of tools, most of which belong to my cheapie Aldi planer/thicknesser - but there's nothing in the manual as to what it might be (it may of course just be in the box and...

For the odd use I have a cheapie VonHaus multi-tool (corded) - plus some extra blades from Screwfix. Works for me for cutting and sanding

    Cut off/scrap fever

I use the term "off cuts" - whatever - I have a bin that I chuck the absolutely certain bits, and the not sure in the truck that stores all my wood (a.k.a. lumber cart) - every now and then a purge of the not sure stuff and that plus the certain stuff (less any MDF or ply with nasty glues) goes...

Trimmer Router table design layout suggestions

Yep - I've bought about a dozen lengths - absolutely fine - there are 2 sizes - if you search Drillpro on the Banggood site you'll see them + lots of "Woodpecker lookalike" stuff.

Tips re: pocket screws at 50mm and 63mm - can I substitute kreg pan-head screws for washer-head?

+1 . . . - and look on ebay as Trend Direct has a shop there that for some things is cheaper than Trend Direct direct

Where does all this stuff come from?

That really needs some tambour doors to finish it off!

Where does all this stuff come from?

Easily solved! - positioned between two recycled kitchen wall cupboards (pic is blurred as it's cropped out of bigger image and enlarged) - there's another stack further along the cupboard run - and you can't really see but they all have labels

CasualDIY on YouTube had some stuff about alternative pads or sanders - can't remember the details but worth a look for any tips/savings

Where does all this stuff come from?

I think I'm up to about 6 Stanley cases BUT have discovered that B&M Stores sell a very similar product (in 2 sizes) at less than half the Stanley price - equally good quality in my view.
