    For Sale Titan Jointer/Planer Thicknesser - TTB579PLN - £50

If you have a nearby Mens' Shed give it to them . . . .

    Patio fence / fencing

For the timber part I would look at using horizontal boards with a small gap to allow wind to pass through - either a single skin on one side, or a double skin with staggered spacing (i.e. Yorkshire boarding that you see on large farm barns) My own take on fencing for the whole of my garden...

    Convertible Mitre/Table Saws: any good?

Looks like Evolution has launched a similar combo saw...

    Stainless steel splashback

I used mirror screws with the flat, screw on, matt chrome head caps for a couple of stainless panels we have - looks neat.

    Convertible Mitre/Table Saws: any good?

There was a YT video about a similar concept saw (albeit a cheapie) - BUT it looks like the issues would be similar. Looks like a dangerous idea to me - you can buy 2 Evolution dedicated machines for about the same as the Bosch.

10" bandsaw - Record or Charnwood?

I found a fitting my brother made that was with a gnat's crotchet the right size for the saw's spigot (a wrap of draught excluder tape and it fits like a glove) - other end tapers down and fits to my normal hose that drives all the workshop dust extraction. How effective dust extraction is...

Withdrawn Axminster mitre fence for 1400 bandsaw (NEW)

A bit of lateral thinking and driling a hole and I've modified the Axminster (better quality item) to work with the rail in the mitre slot on my Record machine (which has a flimsy plastic mitre fence) Result (y) This item ...

10" bandsaw - Record or Charnwood?

Well, it's here - packed securely on a pallet. It's assembled and set up ready to go, with one small bit of confusion with the instructions where there seems to be an improvement to the way the scale strip attaches. And a bit of cutting down of the wheeled truck it stands on to get the table...

10" bandsaw - Record or Charnwood?

I'm highly likely to never need a blade bigger than 1/2" - I'm not in the habit of trying to cut bowl turning blanks or logs! I seldom cut any timber or sheet material thicker than about 25mm and the previous smaller machine coped with that.

    An easy option for MFT's

I bought an MFT from www.cncdesign.co.uk - it's described as a Festool replacement but I just used it to top a bench frame I made. Pretty good quality and price.

10" bandsaw - Record or Charnwood?

Indeed for industrial and primarily engineering stuff, I had a SIP welding kit many moons ago when I used to play with/race a Land Rover.

10" bandsaw - Record or Charnwood?

Excecutive decision made: Ordered the Record (from Yandles) - it seems that the "population" of this machine is much greater than the Charnwood and most of the YT reviews on the Record are positive . . . also, the green colour matches my Record air filter and dust extractor :) - a couple of...

10" bandsaw - Record or Charnwood?

A bit of "thread drift" here! I should have said that size and budget (max £300) were considerations. James: I hadn't seen the SIP - but I couldn't find any word on warranty so probably just 12 months (and a realtively non-mainstream brand) So, back to the Record BS250 vs Charnwood BS410...

    Why, what was the mistake . . . ?

10" bandsaw - Record or Charnwood?

I've sold my small Axminster P1400 bandsaw as I need a slightly larger machine (space is an issue, hence just a 10" machine) The runners appear to be the Record BS250, Charnwood BS 410 at very similar prices (I also looked at but discarded the Lumberjack machine) The specs for the two machines...

Any cheaper alternatives to the Kreg / DeWalt quickflip systems

Or more - I have 4 battery tools - 3 ready-loaded with different driving bits and one ready for drill bits.

    Surform with a difference

I still use a Surform like the one in the OP, as well as a "block plane" version that's about half the length . . . great for easing edges on timber.

    Surform with a difference

. . . I assume that you know the tool is designed with a 2-position handle - as the picture for using it "like a plane" or with the handle in line with the mesh and used "like a file"

Who made this TYZACK panel plane?

He's from Bradford, UK - although they pronounce it Bratford :)

Who made this TYZACK panel plane?

IIRC @petermillard did a video on YT not long ago that mentioned Tyzack's shop?
