Track saw rails . . . which one works for my saw?

Great - thanks. Looks like the 1500 is out of stock but they have the 2 x 700 on the shelf - I'll ask when they might have the long one available. Have to say I find the "annoying lip" on the MacA to be quite a good feature :)

Track saw rails . . . which one works for my saw?

A quick look and it seems that the Excel is available for about £32 inc postage - but they only have the short ones - I've asked them if they can join onto the MacAllisters

Track saw rails . . . which one works for my saw?

I think putting the @ name triggers his feed from the forum? - I'll leave him to enjoythe Jubilee weekend and PM on Monday if he hasn't responded. In the meantime I'll put "the other blade" in my mitre saw and cut down the damaged rail (and annoyingly too I broke one of the green plastic...

Track saw rails . . . which one works for my saw?

Nope - I watched it, again, earlier today and the MacAllister doesn't get a mention - Peter does have a MacAllister saw in a more recent video but no mention of rails.

Track saw rails . . . which one works for my saw?

Yep - I menton Peter in my OP above (I'm a subscriber) . . . but scanning his YT videos I haven't found the answer to my question (he's acually twice as active in his workshop . . . it's 10 Minute Workshop :) :) )

Track saw rails . . . which one works for my saw?

I have a cheapie MacAllister track saw which does the job for me BUT I've managed to damage one of the rails such that it unusable (it fell from a height onto concrete and landed on a corner. I have considered cutting 3 or 4 inches off the end to make it usable but that then reduces the amount...

    Axminster aw1950b bandsaw

I used one of these when I went on an Axminster Course a couple of years ago (and the larger models) - seemed pretty good. BUT I would suggest buying the biggest throat bandsaw that you can afford - I bought one, an Axminster, and whilst it's a great machine the size limitation is annoying . ...

    Mini Cordless Chainsaw...any good?

I have a mini-chain saw (electric) on a long pole (it's actually an extending pole) - excellent cutting from an 8" bar/chain. Proper DIY on YouTube has just done a couple of reviews of small electric chainsaws - they come out well. . . . and I just hope you're not referring to one those lethal...

Osmo Top or Wax and elbow grease?

Downside of OSMO is that it is sloooooow to dry (7 days??). The Fiddes equivalent oil is just as good and dries in less than 12 hours ready to recoat

    Record Power air filters

Given the price of the filters - and finding them in stock - I give mine a periodic suck with the Henry using the narrow upholstery tool . . . gets ride of a lot of the dust and adds a bit more life to the filter.

Armoured cable - radius of bends?

    Err - you're getting ahead of yourself - cable hasn't arrived yet . . . . .

Armoured cable - radius of bends?

OK - my terminology for the 3 core that is to be used as T&E - he just gave me the number of the cable. I'm done with this thread - cable ordered, I should get the job finished during the coming week . . . water is involved too!!

Armoured cable - radius of bends?

New plan has gentle curves which will work with the cable - and YES/OK/COMPLIES (all advised by a qualified electrician) - to all your comments, or already answered I've done all this before but a while ago.

Armoured cable - radius of bends?

It's 6943X - and as the OP says 2.5 T&E Armoured - as recommended by a qualified electrician who has also advised on the connections/outlet. The supply is to run some low-ish powered garden machinery and possibly some lights on the odd occasion - and the building is wooden.

Armoured cable - radius of bends?

I've re-thought the way it's going to be and it will now climb the wall and then turn across a "bridge" to get to the house (i.e. there'll be an arch over the passage between the wall and the house.) - and the corner that it was going to go round has concrete on the ground!

Armoured cable - radius of bends?

I think that's XLPE ? - but doesn't appear to be armoured? - as it's going low down on the wall along the back of flower beds I'd be concerned about my wife hitting it with loppers/secateurs/strimmer etc.

Armoured cable - radius of bends?

I'm going to run a 2.5 T&E Armoured cable from the house about 15 metres to an outbuilding, fixed to a wall. That's straightforward - my question is how tight can I make the bends in the cable where it turns corners? The turns, if I can do them are 90 degrees - it's how tight I can make the...

    Record Power air filters

Indeed I have - had it a couple of years and no problems (other than the remote's beam isn't very wide so you have to point it carefully) - mine's in cradle attached to the ceiling Pic was taken a while ago (it's been on here before) - ceiling has now been insulated and plaster-boarded and...
