    1/4" and 6mm router cutters/collets

Update . . . it looks as if the Katsu corded palm router I also have has a 1/4" collet that's interchangeable with the Einhell as a temporary solution. The Katsu (Makita copy) came with 2 collets.

    1/4" and 6mm router cutters/collets

Just bought the Einhell plunge/palm cordless router combo - on the face of it pretty good and the same battery platform as quite a few other Einhell tools I have - replacing a couple of corded 1/4" routers. The new Einhell says "6mm collet" . . . my large quantity of cutters are all 1/4" (i.e...

Sold Axminster/Leigh/Bosch router bushes REVISED PRICES

Axminster router bush set and adapters for Bosch. Brand new, never used. I bought these with a Bosch 1200 router that didn't get used (sold) I have moved to (almost) all cordless power tools, including two routers. [Pictures are from Axminster website but are the items I have] Axminster...

    Modular Workbenches

. . . no point in making an MFT top - pretty cheap to buy on ebay and CNC cut for precision (in MDF or ply) - less than the cost of the jig and router cutter - just make the table frame or it.

    Why has my table cupped?

I can't really answer with any real evidence - the things I've had cup have been made from (new) 2.4m scaffold boards - obviously not the finest quality timber. My instinct was based on logic with wider boards and the fairly open/wide (fast growth) rings. I've seen at least one YT video on the...

    Why has my table cupped?

Did you glue the boards together with the end-grain in alternate directions? i.e. curve up . . . curve down . . . curve up for the 3 boards, looking at the end grain rings . The cross pieces need to be "against the curve" of the end grain. It's happened to me a couple of times with some...

    Brings back fond memories?

My recollection of Coggeshall (when I lived in West Essex) was that it was the butt of several jokes . . . where the residents were all mad and: Struck the last match in the box to see if it worked . . . . . and/or, cut the bottom step off the staircase so that flood water wouldn't go upstairs.

Sold Bosch POF 1200 router - as new

Bosch 1/4" router in as new condition. It includes the side guide in the picture and the Bosch "quick release" guide bush holder in the foreground of the picture (cost £18) This tool was a "distress purchase" when I was doing some work away from my workshop at my daughter's flat and I hadn't...

    Brings back fond memories?

I still have 3 of the folding boxwood rulers - and do use one of them from time to time (when I'm using my Yankee pump scewdriver ;) )

    Scaffold board workshop

Have a look at Badger Workshop on YT - he's just built a relatively inexpensive workshop . . . you could probably find reclaimed timber for the studwork and s/h sheets for the roof (or even the walls)

    MacAllister Track saw and rails

    Yep - but everything except a MacAllister saw . . .

    MacAllister Track saw and rails

I have one of these - cheap and cheerful but does what I want to do. I'm in the market for a longer, single piece, rail 1.4/1.5m - the possibles seem to be the Makita (mentioned in the current Rutland thread) or one from Evolution. I've searched around and loked at measurements/templates etc...

Air filters and how they are mounted.

They work on their side - IIRC Badger Workshop on YT had one like that in his old workshop. [Edit - as I typed the Badger pic was posted!] My Record 400 is mounted in a "cradle" about 25mm from the ceilin of my garage workshop (the grey shrouds are my pushbikes hanging up) The filter works...

Amtico in large Kitchen Family Room

. . . ditto re the approved installer .... but look at Karndean products . . . pretty much the same as Amtico and in my experience just as good, but less costly.

    Birch ply alternative ?

@petermillard has some recent stuff on plywood on YT - although I think prices weren't far off birch - but it was available unlike birch

    Laser levels

I've been using one recommended by The Restoration Couple on YT - about £25 - accurate enough for my purposes . . . I've just ordered a tripod for it from Amazon, £14
