Garden shed - ventilation for foil based cold roof

I have a wooden shed like yours although it has a pitched roof rather than pent. Initially I was quite concerned about rust etc damaging both hand tools and machines. I live near the coast so the air is full of salty water which isn't great for corrosion and rust. I installed 2 'high airflow'...

    Is there a battery/cordless 23G pin nailer?

That seems a reasonable price - I ended up going for an air setup with the axminster 24 gauge nailer (although i'm sure it's no different from 23 gauge). If the ryobi was available at that price at the time I was considering all this I probably would have bought it. To be honest though I am...

    American pork chop planer guard

I have the bridge guard on mine and I agree with the previous comments that it is good for edge jointing but I move it out of the way for surface planing which probably defeats the point in the whole thing... I think these sort of discussions are why good manufacturers should focus on making...

    Another alcove shelves post...

That's helpful to know. I feel a bit stupid now that I hadn't considered making a template... I have just measured and was intending to trim to fit at the end... I know the opening is narrowest at the back and widest at the front which is the ideal way round!

    Another alcove shelves post...

Good shout, I maybe should go for 15mm battens and a 18mm groove even to give me a bit of play... 2mm isn't a lot over a 1200mm span

    Another alcove shelves post...

I managed to come into another solid oak kitchen worktop which I think I will just use for these shelves. It is an oak stave worktop, 40mm thick. I plan on attaching some 18mm square battens to the three sides of the alcove wall it will contact, then routing a corresponding groove into the...

My first thread….table saw, sander and dust extractor….be gentle….

My dewalt trim router (corded one) has some clear plastic inserts for the dust extraction, but it is pretty good - not in the realm of the festool stuff of course but still it's not terrible. My DeWalt chop saw DWS774 however is absolutely atrocious...

    Trim router recommendation

I am late as well but another vote for the dewalt, absolute pleasure to use. I temporarily had a katsu and hated it although most people seem to really like them,

    Another alcove shelves post...

Mostly the faced MDF i can find is on both sides, it seems a bit expensive to waste a side each time if i am using 2x pieces per shelf. I can get a 2500 x 600 sheet of Oak Veneer for £32, Per shelf I need Two 1250 x 300, so I can make two shelves per sheet of that. Two sheets of that (£64)...

    Another alcove shelves post...

I have got to make 4 alcove shelves in the next month or so. She wants them to be oak to match the oak alcove units I made below. 1232mm long, 300mm wide. They need to be about 40mm no thicker, maybe slightly less at 35mm. They might hold a bit of weight with some books etc, but probably mostly...

I expect if you are able to provide the reciept etc for warranty that would be attractive to buyers as well.

    Domino has died :(

New armature from festool parts for that domino is about £82 incl VAT. Part number 493904. Order Festool spare parts When I sent my rotex to festool they did it in about 10 days. They first assess the thing, then send you a quote. I think they give you the option of having the tool returned to...

    Domino has died :(

I have been impressed with festool service before, and they service the tool which is valuable particularly with the older tools etc. If you can work out what you think it is - probably armature, then the festool parts catalogue is excellent and reasonably priced, then you could fit it...

    Triton Tra001 Router question

Hi - I bought a TRA001 for mounting in a table about 5 months ago. I made it a table (pictured) which is simply a piece of 18mm ply with some bracing, and set some T-Track and the Kreg router plate into it (which is pre-drilled for the triton, and has the right cutout hole for the above table...

    Triton Tra001 Router question

I always use the lock. R.E dust extraction there is a 3d printable additional part which closes off the whole bit and makes extraction maybe >95% from underneath when mounted in a table. I will post a more extensive reply with a link to it later tonight, it cost me £10 to have printed. No need...
