    Kity 636

Thanks, I might quiz you again at some point during the process. There is quite a bit of corrosion on the thicknesser table so i think that might have to come out for its restoration.

    Kity 636

I have just picked up a kity 636 planer for next to nothing. The seller didn't really know anything about it and I don't know anything of it's history. It appears to have been serviced in 2014. The fence is missing, so I am going to have to manufacture one for it. The beds all need a bit of a...

    Woodworking Youtubers

I recently had Jason Hibbs (Bourbon Moth Woodworking) over to visit after winning a competition on his youtube and we built a bed. Was genuinely a really fun experience, my tiny workshop (shed) was a real difference to the american setup. I was really interested to know how much was 'put on'...

    Looking for a track saw

I Love my Festool TS55 which I picked up for about £140 used on facebook. Built really well so was happy to go for the used approach (i buy 90% of my tools used and just choose well built brands). If you have a look around you can generally find them for the £100-200 mark. The Excel tracks from...

Rust protection for planes and saws etc

Very interesting - I don’t know where I would even look for that in the UK! But I would be interested to have a go in principle!

Rust protection for planes and saws etc

I use ACF-50 to good success, my shop is a shed so humidity and moisture is a constant problem, I can tell anything that hasn’t been treated with ACF-50 as it starts to turn after 3 weeks or so of sitting in there. Amazing stuff, was recommended to me by motorcyclist friend apparently they all...

    Found Headless Pins,Axminster 24 gauge.

Hi Simon, I wondered if you were still getting on fine with the 23gauge pins or if you had experienced any issues? Just got myself the axi pinner

    Is there a battery/cordless 23G pin nailer?

I went air in the end. Similar to what @petermillard explained earlier in this thread, I couldn't see the point in importing a Ryobi cordless from the US (without warranty) for £190, PLUS a battery adapter (another £20) = total £210. Just on a pin nailer. I used the axminster black friday deal...

Axminster Black Friday - Pretty good savings.

Can anyone give me a 'refer a friend' 15% code?

    Is there a battery/cordless 23G pin nailer?

Thanks for this - I will watch. I'm leaning towards ordering the 23ga ryobi from the US and then using a dewalt battery converter to let me use it with my existing batteries. Did you say you have the 23ga ryobi? Is it any good?

    Is there a battery/cordless 23G pin nailer?

Now this is of interest! If only I could find a ryobi 23G nailer for sale in the UK!

Wood Options for making Painted Wood Furniture

On a cursory search, Beech seems slightly cheaper than Poplar, any thoughts on Beech for this purpose?

    Is there a battery/cordless 23G pin nailer?

Change of tactic then - I will look for the smallest air setup I can find. Draper do a very small 6 litre compressor which I could probably find room for. What pin nailer did you manage to find on the cheap? I looked at axminster who do a 24 gauge nailer, but as far as I can see 24 gauge nails...

    Is there a battery/cordless 23G pin nailer?

I have just read your edit - I am actually wondering if this might be what I have to look at! I have such a small workshop that I havent a clue where I could fit a compressor - but I shall have a look at some compact options!

    Is there a battery/cordless 23G pin nailer?

Ugh - that is annoying! It looks like the ryobi is basically my only option... which also means buying a new charger and battery too.... Very annoying

    Is there a battery/cordless 23G pin nailer?

Im actually a bit confused now. I thought the Ryobi was available in the UK - but now I check it doesn't actually appear to be?

    Is there a battery/cordless 23G pin nailer?

I keep trying to buy a 23G pin nailer. I have a 18G Brad nailer but it is no good for finish work. My 18G Brad nailer is a titan (screw fix) one, it was only cheap approx £30. I cannot seem to find a 23G equivalent, I don’t really want to spend a lot on one, the cheapest one I can find is the...

Wood Options for making Painted Wood Furniture

My other half wants some bedroom furniture to match a bed I recently made. She has decided she wants them to be painted wood, with oak tops, and has given me some style ideas she likes (the photos). Obviously I don't want to be using nice (and expensive) oak for the whole unit, what (cheaper!)...
