Air Nailers Or Electric nail guns?

I cannot comment with a huge amount of experience on this topic, however very recently I wanted to purchase a 23 gauge headless pin nailer, but found that it was near impossible to get an electric one (and they were >£300 where I could find one). I have used the titan 18 gauge brad nailer...

Removing and reinserting bearings on planer/thicknesser cutter block shaft - help from anyone with experience appreciated!!

Thankyou all for your advice so far with this.. I watched the Marcus Hornburger video and saw how much of a faff it was for him to remove, and actually even then it was the precise re-setting of the bearings that worries me more! This response by Fergie was really helpful too, I think that...

Removing and reinserting bearings on planer/thicknesser cutter block shaft - help from anyone with experience appreciated!!

I will say that my main worry is actually g for refitting the bearings will I just be able to push them on by hand or will I need to use some kind of tooling? I do have a standard butane torch, which I can use to heat the aluminium piece. The bearings look relatively new but if they are not...

Removing and reinserting bearings on planer/thicknesser cutter block shaft - help from anyone with experience appreciated!!

The aluminium pulley did not want to come off easily When I tried with the bolt removed that you will see on the end. I was going to try and pull it off with a bearing puller. I then thought about trying to remove the other end however, when I removed the plate over the bearing, it was not...

Removing and reinserting bearings on planer/thicknesser cutter block shaft - help from anyone with experience appreciated!!

I have asked a few questions recently where people have helped me out with a kity planer i am trying to restore. I have got the majority of the parts taken apart into their individual components now, the last piece I am onto is the cutter block and its assembly. It is mounted via two bearings...

    Rust Remover for Tool Restoration

Thanks all for the advice - I liked the look of the Jenolite stuff as it was available on amazon, however I think I will likely try the 'restore rust remover' as reccomended as it isn't actually that expensive and would be fairly easy for me to bathe the tools in it. Some of the parts I was...

What are these metal pins called (Dissasembling my Kity 636 for restoration)

Thankyou to everyone for advice on this! I bought a set of parrallel punches from Toolstation and then this is is exactly what I did in the end and they are out! Got a couple more to remove from some other parts of the assembly so I will bear all of the advice in mind.

    Rust Remover for Tool Restoration

Abrasives Before using the rust remover or after? I had in my mind that the 'rust removers' would make it so that the rust would effectively wipe off. I use a product called 'magma' by autoglym which does a similar thing on my car sometimes.

    Rust Remover for Tool Restoration

I'm trying to restore the cutter block amongst other pieces of this kity 636. I have been debating between the idea of electrolysis or using some kind of paint on rust remover product. Does anyone have any experience with the paint on stuff and if so any reccomendations, Thanks,

What are these metal pins called (Dissasembling my Kity 636 for restoration)

Annoyingly I can't tilt the bridge piece sufficiently as the threaded rods for the thicknesser table protrude too far out the top to allow the other side of the bridge to be lifted from its position.

What are these metal pins called (Dissasembling my Kity 636 for restoration)

And to re-insert them when it comes to reassembly? I assume can just get new ones but do they require any special tool to put in?

What are these metal pins called (Dissasembling my Kity 636 for restoration)

So I am in the process of taking my kity 636 to bits to restore it. I am trying to remove the outfeed table, however to remove the bolts holding it on, I must dissasemble the swing up mechanism to allow room for the bolts passage. To take the main pin out of the swing mechanism I need to...

    Reccomend me a whetstone/sharpening setup under £50

Hi - so what would I need, just a honing guide? Veritas do this one but it is significantly more than the £14 basic axi one, I don't mind buying the veritas one if it's going to be much better, but if the basic axi one works fine then I would be able to live with that! I know that a lot of...
