Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

Would I not be able to use something like this? https://www.screwfix.com/p/suki-drill-in-threaded-sockets-m4-x-6-5mm-4-pack/200GX?kpid=200GX&ds_rl=1249413&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzLvtlvLt_QIVjNLtCh2-fwe_EAQYBCABEgIZlfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

Makes complete sense. I don't own a helicoil kit but I can see the individual helicoils aren't expensive. Is there a way of doing this without the rest of the kit. It looks just like a threaded insert (to be fair I could just use an ordinary threaded insert no?

    Cutting plywood

I had to cut out a panel this week for a recessed part of a workshop cabinet, I think this is the sort of thing you’re trying to do. I used a flush trim router bit and then used the inside shape as a template. You could just make a square shape to act as your template and temporarily fix it to...

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

@deema photos of the guide in question attached. Each of them appear to have grease nipples on them. I don’t have a grease gun but I can get them done. The two side ones run smoothly, the rear one looks like the face is damaged and it doesn’t run smoothly. The housing block is made of a...

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

I don't have the saw with me at the moment so I can't check the wheels until the weekend, however, I do have the guide to hand so I'll take some photos of it in a few hours and post them.

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

Hi Tom, Thanks for your really comprehensive reply and advice. I intend to have a proper tinker with it next week to see what needs doing and make a start so I will definitely keep this updated. I guess I will have to fork out on a new GL thrust bearing then by the sounds of it! I will watch...

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

Thanks for your reply - I tried the link for the manual you had found but it won't let me download it for some reason.

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

Thanks for your reply - the spring seems fine, I don't foresee any reason why I would change it. I'll study your thread closely as I do mine and I am sure that will guide me through most of it. The rear thrust bearing on the upper guide isn't very well and looks like it will need replacing. I...

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

Thanks very much for your reply! Yes I really haven't been able to find out much about the model at all. I did get a reply from Centauro this morning but just asking for some photographs, i'm not sure what help they will be. The one @deema and @Sideways restored looks very similar indeed in...

    Domino or Jessem's creation.....

This is exactly my stance too. I bought my DF500 used for under £400. I don't like that I spent that much money on it - but I always look at it as if I want to I can sell it for about the same as I bought it for, so I don't really loose anything by buying one to see how I get on with it and then...

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

I seem to have made a habit out of picking up old machines in need of a bit of work... A local workshop was getting rid of it's old bandsaw last week and I picked it up for slightly over £100 which I thought was a steal! Its a Centauro 400 SSP, It says 'Anno di Construzione - 198' Which I...

Planer thicknesser for single garage workshop

I purchased a cheaper (and i'm sure inferior) version of the gauge above from amazon for £25 when I did my kity 636. It seems to have worked fine for me and I expect I will use it for years to come albeit very occasionally. Dial Test Indicator With Magnetic Stand

    Centauro bandsaw refurb

How did you get on with the refurb in the end? I picked up this exact bandsaw this morning. Mine looks in fairly good condition compared but I intend to give it a bit of a haulover.

    Kity 636

Lastly... 3. I got the fence back from the fabricator this afternoon. It is made from 4mm steel plate, with a 90 degree bend at one end and some welded parts on the back. The welded parts will interface with a 20mm steel rod that @sploo is hopefully kindly going to machine for me (thankyou!!)...

    Kity 636

    2. I designed a replacement knob on sketchup for the infeed table adjustment as mine was missing, got that printed too and fits + works perfectly. I would have preferred a few more ridges than just the star shape, but my sketchup skills arent yet up to that and i'm being picky... (also I...

    Kity 636

Three updates on this which I will do over three posts: 1. I got the 3D printed dust extraction ports and they fit perfectly! I'm absolutely chuffed with how they have come out and the bloke who printed them couldn't have been more helpful. If anyone needs a reccomendation for someone to print...

Tips on edging ply or MDF

No the boxes are her commission (They are under bed storage for her clothes...) and I was just giving her the sales pitch for the edging ha! I don’t think I’d get away with actually doing it in there (although I did get to build a bed in the kitchen not too long ago...

Tips on edging ply or MDF

It was actually my first time edging, I thought I’d try the stick on edge banding for the underside of the pieces - which won’t be seen), and try hardwood edging on then it’s that would be seen. The photo above is some of the bits with the stick on edge banding. It was actually more effort and...

Tips on edging ply or MDF

I didn't want to purchase a load of spring clamps and I had a lot to do so that's why I used the 23 gauge headless pins. It meant I could glue on 20 metres of edging in about 2 hours, with no need to wait for a bit to dry to move onto the next bit of edging. If you have air tools then a...
