    Thicknesser question

I also have a tiny shop - 6x8 shed. I keep all machines on units with castors to make best use of the space, and often wheel things outside for working with larger pieces. For the P/T I made a unit to contain a small HVLP extractor (it needs the end door open when in use for the dust bag), and a...

Esta blades for Charnwood planer W583

I completely agree with all this. I am only a DIYer but when I started out I assumed that buying new stuff would still be a better idea whilst on a budget. I quickly learned that a cheap new machine which has low build quality, will always have low build quality. The older machines, whilst may...

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

Hi - I haven't been able to do anything on the bandsaw for the past few weeks so it's something I need to take more of a look at when I get time (and it's not at my house annoyingly as I can't fit it in my workshop!! No doubt this will all be of use when I do manage to find the time to look at...

    Metalworking Rolling Mill

I don't do any metalwork so i'm not entirely sure what this is! but I expect those of you who do might!! It's £80 on facebook local to me, I reckon that you could probably negotiate to £50-60. If anyone wants it I would be happy to get it and either can collect from me later or I could probably...

Sold 2 Lignum vitae bowling balls

@akirk I assume you are planning to cut these up for bandsaw blade guides, on the off chance, i'd happily pay for a small amount of one you cut up to make some guides for my small bandsaw. Would only need a very small amount :) Not offended in the slightest if not!! :)

    Dust Extraction

I have found with my router table that I don't need both above and below extraction at the same time. If I'm cutting a dado or something where dust is coming out underneath I connect the extraction to the lower port, if i'm doing a roundover or flush trimming etc I connect to the above port...

    Wanted Bandsaw rip fence

I havent a photo but I fitted the axminster one and am happy with it. Only issue is if your blade comes off via the front of the saw you have to remove the guide rail (as Terry has explained). Can either cut through it or mount it using thumbscrews - I mounted mine using thumbscrews and remove...

    Clamping Scarf Joints

I find myself often asking questions here which I feel probably have very simple answers that somehow I have overlooked! I need to join two pieces of sapele to make the length I need. Its 38mm wide and 27mm thick. I will scarf join it using cuts at about 30 degrees, then I will do a small bit...

    Making this profile.

I don't know why I had made this so complicated in my head :dunno:. I realised I could just use a roundover bit and a fence to stop it at the appropriate distance. I had a go on a scrap test piece today and it worked fine, I will do the proper work one day next week.

    Making this profile.

I have been asked to make this profile. I was thinking of doing it by just taking material off step by step with the table saw, then sanding to get the curve. I’m sure a router bit would do a better job however. Does anyone know where I’d get one of this form? Alternatively any advice on...

That looks perfect! Thanks so much for doing that. The washers are great too, how did you go about machining those out of interest? Thanks
